What’s the rule you agree with the most?: The reiterated exclusion of all references to modern culture in roleplay since I have experienced disruption in the past due to "memeage".

Definitions

 

What is roleplaying?: This is the act of producing a character/persona and using this to interact with others in a fictional environment to build upon narrative and scenarios.

What is metagaming?: When you apply knowledge you have obtained out-of-character to in-character roleplay. An example of this could be identifying the location of someone's persona in-game through information acquired in an OOC conversation.

What is powergaming?: This is when you use unrealistic responses while roleplaying to maximise your progress in a scenario. This behaviour impacts negatively upon the authentic roleplay adventure.

Biography:

Parion's upbringing admittedly should have been something nostalgic; as he lived within the comforting walls of Haelun’or, amidst his prosperous race. His parents nurtured his innate gentle nature, assisting its development as he matured into a rather exceptional young elf. His mind was raw with passion and the extraordinary desire to consume all knowledge which lay amongst Vailor.

 

At 16, Parion largely spent his time indulging himself with the abundant, marvellous and often heart-wrenching tales of his father's - spanning as far back as Athera, 1470. One memorable account of his had been the gritty recollections of the ousting of Haelun'or and its governing bodies. At the time the family in which he belonged had been passionate supporters of the prior political state and were subsequently forced to seek refuge during the growth of Laureh'lin. As a naive, young elf his father possessed minimal awareness and understanding towards the circumstances, leaving him consumed by terror for many of the subsequent years. Though there were surely far more interesting stories this particular piece first allowed Parion to identify the immense levels of empathy he possessed and appreciate the true level of his delicate disposition. With each recount his imagination expanded and he craved to learn about the personal experiences of all. Without hesitation he expressed his desire to explore Vailor and its inhabitants beyond the city – his adoring father propitiously fulfilled his wishes.

 

The Library of Dragur, was an expedition of learning which excelled beyond any other trip. He favoured the location and spent much of his time there, eventually finding himself living amongst what he loved. The dips and rises of the sun would pass by while he remained static, devouring the information which had been spilled upon every page he scoured. During his time, amongst the shelves of literary ambition, he discovered a book which introduced him to something quite incredible – the Arcane arts. While he perused his days away, without a word to his family, Parion’s endless absence from home was becoming a mounting concern. With his mother growing fretful he returned to Haelun’or and was immediately bounded to the library within the city.

 

Over the passing year he grew unsettled and acted out, arguments arose and instabilities began to emerge, eventually driving him to confess that it was unbearable being forced to live away from a place so tender in his heart. The result of that evening was unforeseen; insults were uttered and subjects addressed which Parion wishes to forget. Whether it had been justified, decidedly far-sighted or just an act of youthful rebellion, he determined his finest option was to entirely disassociate himself with those who had raised him with such ardour.

 

He left for The Caliphate where he resided within the Grand Library in hope no one could seek him out. After a few remorseful days away he revisited the city, anticipating a heartfelt welcoming embrace from his parents to rejoice his homecoming. Alas, he was greeted with the news of their undisclosed departure. This only reaffirmed his decision to split from them permanently.

 

Subsequently, Parion attempted to live among the libraries of Vailor yet over time found himself prohibited to enter most establishments – often being regarded as a ‘loitering nuisance’. During these harsh spells he depended upon kind strangers to offer him nourishment & temporary shelter, alas he often found himself being double-crossed. After one rather sadistic incident he was discarded in a frightful state and stripped of his essential possessions. He sought protection and residence within the Cloud Temple and remained there before reaching an age which would grant him the freedom to acquire his own accommodation and forge his own path.

 

Personality Traits: Parion is undoubtedly a captivating individual who carries himself with an enigmatic charm and debonair. Generally he remains suavely reserved and eloquent, though at times he has been known to present himself in a more ebullient and colourful fashion. His one fatal flaw however is that he is immensely allocentric, almost unbearably so, often (if not always) valuing other persons before himself. With this he is courteous, forgiving and passive but has often adjusted his morals and demeanor to suit whomever he may be in the presence of; this has had him labelled a coward and considered to be deceitful.

Ambitions: To expand upon his knowledge and explore the possibilities of Arcane magic. He also wishes to find companionship to fulfil his cravings to rekindle the tender affection his family once delivered.

Strengths/Talents: Parion has a unique capacity to connect with others and his environment. He has a magnetic appeal about him which generally allows him to build and retain alliances with many. This is probably a result of his immense intelligence.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: Parion does not possess any strength and even if he did he would be entirely unable to reduce himself to physically inflicting harm upon others. Due to this he is less than unskilled with weaponry.

Appearance (List the extra details of your characters appearance, IE; height & weight): 5’11”, fair silver hair, saturated blue eyes and his build is slighter than the average high elf.
