A Note To Readers

Greetings, readers. We at the OPC, are now accepting articles from all members of the public, regardless of gender or social background. The assistance of the general public, will allow us to create our papers far faster and packed with more news, hot off the press.

Are you interested in employment at the OPC? Send a bird to Otto V Habsburg ((Neon123) or visit the OPC Headquarters.

We also take the opportunity to apologise for a lack of printing.

Steward Silus

All citizens of Oren, especially Felsen, are aware of Silus Horen. Steward of the people. However, not all know how the man came to be our faithful Steward. In this interview I, Otto Von Habsburg, uncovered the mystery of Silus’  long life.

Steward Horen, was previously the Imperial Treasurer, hence the economic boom experienced by Oren at the time. He was approached by Lord Rothersay within the Imperial Palace and was offered the role of Felsen’s Steward. We at the OPC, thank Lord Rothersay for his excellent choice.

Steward Horen, describes himself to be a close friend of our Maer Mylas. Though strictly a professional relationship. As citizens we should tip our hats and bow our heads towards these two great Orenian figures, who have helped to create a better Felsen. A most favourable action of our Maer and Steward, was the cutting of taxes across the capital, for the rich, and the poor. These individuals are truly men of the people.

I asked the Steward what his next goal was. He told me that he would like to improve the trade of the Empire. Not only internationally, but between the cities, duchies and merchants. There will be no need for ships. Therefore, we can expect to see improvements in infrastructure and transport across The Empire. Under the leadership of our Emperor, Mylas and Silus, the economy can expect to rise. “A wealthy Capital produces excess funds, which will be donated towards the war effort or respectively, the aftermath of the war.” This increase in funding will allow us to heal our nation after the war with the midget menace. We can also expect further construction of buildings and homes across the Capital.

Steward Horen hinted his opinion on the war. He shares the same of all citizens of Oren, tired of fighting the dwarf menace. He would like to see it put to an end. However, he trusts the judgement of our wise Emperor. “I for one would support a peace negotiation. However, the decision lies with his Imperial Majesty.”

Steward Horen is neither pretentious or pompous, allowing this interview to be conducted at a quiet table, rather than a lavish Imperial office. He may be found wandering the streets of Felsen, particularly the square, for all of those who wish to move to our utopia of a capital. When asked what he hoped to turn Felsen into he replied with- “A city worth living in, prosperity, peace, a place to retreat from the world, even if just for a brief moment.”

We at the OPC thank our Steward, as if not for him, we would not be able to deliver this paper. We praise the judgement of Lord Rothersay and of course his Imperial Majesty, who leads this nation into greatness. Ave Oren, Ave Horen.

Capital Kidnapping

Recently, an elven woman was attacked upon the streets of felsen, the man was said to have attacked and then overpowered her with an axe, after which a member of the lorraine honour guard came by. This guard did not help the woman, but assisted  the woman's attacker, in this terrible act. She was bound and left in a closet, from which she escaped, hours later.

The woman who was attacked happened to be a close friend of the OPC, and we take this opportunity to urge all Orenian citizens to be wary when travelling, particularly at night. It would seem that highly trusted members of society, play parts within this new slavery ring. Women, particularly elven, are prime targets. Their bodies advertised upon posters. It would seem it is not only Uruks who threaten us with slavery, but humans and elves also.

No statement has been released by the Maer. However, we assure all of our readers that the security within the capital is being tightened, and the threat of slavery shall be stamped from our glorious nation by his Imperial Majesty, John Horen

We urge all freedom loving beings to assist the Nation in destroying the threat of slavery, by enlisting in their local watch or guard force today.

Commotion in the Capital

Earier this week, riots erupted within the square, at the front of the Imperial Palace. Due to the training of the Imperial Guard, the security of the Palace was not compromised. To this day, we at the OPC are still unaware of the cause of these riots.

Justice was quickly served as the ringleader of these heinous acts of rebellion, was William Karduin ((Jacq_VI)). Karduin, is a well known resident of Istria, and within its very guards force. He was swiftly sentenced to death and executed within the square, watched by his sympathisers. The rioting was soon put down, and peace restored to the our Nation’s capital.

[!] An illustration of William Karduin is printed below. [!]

His prominence in Istria may have caused more rioting within the Duchy. However, we have been assured that the situation would have been handled by the Orenian Armed Forces.

We shall work our way to the bottom of this story, and shed some light upon why these events unfolded, within a later edition. For now, justice shall run its course and an investigation will take place.

William Karduin examines the paper, "Uhmmm what. Ugh okey. Yeah sure, you're always right. I did it yes. Kill me everyone."

"What I witnessed was the guard being compromised, obliterated is more of the word for it. The riot I saw was not put down it was stopped by the men leaving. But yes sure... I did it, because you know I was definitely armed and killed men yes."

Alifer Amice Examines the news paper "Oh? Blaming everything on Istria I see? William Karduin had nothing to do with those riots, it was the guards and their inability to function without the Maer right next to them. Get your facts straight! Also our housing development has earned us well over a hundred minas."

Alifer Amice walks by the office and overhears this, angry he ventures a reply, he sticks the note on Otto's door.

"The Maer himself said that you openly slandered Istria and said you had to pay a settlement of 500 minas for previous slander. We will be seeing you in the court of law in four months, I suggest you be careful of what you write next, slander of a noble or county over false claims is a serious offence not even tolerated by the higher courts of law."

Alifer Amice wonders why Otto V Habsburg was talking to himself.
