On the High Chamberlain

The High Chamberlain serves as master and director of the Imperial Household and all those who visit and hold court within the confines of the Imperial Palace. Charged with maintaining court etiquette, staffing the Imperial Palace, and supervising the courtiers of the palace, the High Chamberlain is expected to be an individual with exceptional understanding of courtly life. He is to insure that the court is vibrant and is entrusted great honors to do so.

 

Duties of the Imperial High Chamberlain

The High Chamberlain is obliged to...

  • Maintain and bear the artifacts of his position, namely the Signet of St. Godwein and the Imperial Passkey.
  • Keep the Crown's secrets and promote its stability and well-being.
  • Insure the palace staff are obedient and of good behavior.
  • Preserve the security of the Imperial Palace.
  • Account for all guests and courtiers in the Imperial Palace and provide for their lodgings.
  • Uphold courtly etiquette and insure others uphold courtly etiquette.
  • Advise and serve the crown in all means he may.
  • Keep accurate accounts of palace expenditures and traffic.

 

Powers of the Imperial High Chamberlain

The High Chamberlain is granted...

  • The power to sit upon the Emperor's Privy Council.
  • The power to style himself 'His Excellency', 'High Chamberlain of the Imperial Palace', and 'Bearer of St. Godwein's Signet'.
  • The power to staff the Imperial household in a matter he see fit.
  • The power to banish commoners from court and to suspend access from peers of the realm.
  • The power to judge crime committed in the palace and post warrants upon those who commit crime in the palace.
  • The power to hold jubilee, festivals, and hunts throughout the Crownlands.
  • The power to bear the Imperial Passkey and manage the locks of the Imperial Palace.

 

High Chamberlain of the Imperial Palace

As chosen and declared by His Imperial Majesty and the Imperial Privy Council, the seat of High Chamberlain shall be filled and occupied by His Excellency, the Baron Charles of the House de Wett, for the indefinite future, tasked to uphold the Court and Imperial Palace, insuring stability and governance of the home with tasks to advise and ensure the court is upheld and kept to the standards of the Emperor.


His Excellency, the Baron Charles of the House de Wett, has been granted the Signet of St. Godwein and the Imperial Passkey as declaration and proof of his position.
