Protection for Tur'Evelon

Hey all. So for the past month or two, a group of people that includes me have been hard at work. We have been building a city, Tur'Evelon, that serves as a place where members of the four descendant races can live together peacefully. Up until a week ago, we only offered houses and citizenship to people who happened to stumble by, and they either helped us build the place, or they payed the price for a house. Only recently have we started telling people about our city, and the ones who have searched for it and found it have also had an opportunity to help build. Even with these conditions, we are already at a population count of about 30 or 40, and they meter is still rising. With this knowledge, we realized something important. Soon, people would start arriving with bad intentions, and griefing would occur as well as thieving. Because of this, our city would need protection. Unfortunately, this isn't a free build server, so protection isn't going to just be handed to us by the GM's and Admin's. So we have a three options.

A GM visited our city, and told us that if we wanted protection, we had to do one of three things:

- We can pay minas. The formula for how much we have to pay is (length x width) x 10 - 100. Our city is roughly 500 meters by 800 meters, where a meter is a block. This puts the price in minas at about 4 million minas! To afford that, we would have to take 100 of the richest people in Aegis, and use all their money (which they would be unwilling to do), and we still might not have enough. So this isn't an option.

- We can pay in money. The price in U.S. dollars for a 100 by 100 plot of land is $200. A land area of 500 by 800 contains 40 of these plots, putting the price at $8000! Again, this isn't an option.

- This leaves us at the third option. I was told that if we want protection, it would be helpful if we had support from the Admins, Shiftnative in particular. This out of the three is the only option that is reasonable and achievable.

Although I was told support from the Admin's was needed, I don't think it would hurt if the team of builders here at Tur'Evelon had the support of the GM's and general public as well! I have created this thread with the hopes of getting protection, so I have put a link at the bottom of this post that leads to the Tur'Evelon city thread, and If you decide you like the city, please visit it and support it! So far, everyone I have talked to about this who has been to the city tells me that they think it is worth protecting, and it isn't even completed yet! It is still heavily under construction, but in a few weeks, it should be practically done.

Again, we need all the support we can get, so Admins, GM's, and regular players alike, if you decide you think this city deserves protection, please reply saying that you support us! Also, if you don't think we deserve protection, tell us why. If you don't tell us the problem with our city, how will we fix it?

Here is the link to the city's thread

Thanks to everyone who took the time to read this post, and thanks even more to the supporters and visitors of our wonderful city!

Thanks, from:

-Darrian (rittsy)

-Nailena (greenmilkweed)

-Siladir (secs13)

-Izz'Drin (Dogower)

Or there is the fact that there isn't always much to do in capitals.

If there was only the capital city, then there would be a LOT of stuff to do, but the player base is spread out over many many citys.

That is a opinion, not a fact. I also disagree, Due to the fact if there was only capital cities, not many changes would be made. Honestly, oren gets lets say...50-?? visits a day, though not many events actually happen. I doubt there would be "a LOT more stuff to do" because many players ((such as me)) would still go around and find adventures, explore passages, fight undead and/or living, steal, help those in need, ect. Besides, think about the insane amount of thieve traffic there would be if there was only the capitals, They would practically be waiting in a line outside of the gates. You can think what you want, but this is what i believe.

Due to the fact that no one has been managing the city for weeks because everyone has been busy, I actually sold the entire city to Jigg21 and Vardak. If you want to help protect it, you should talk to either of them :)
