Marbrand Court

As you enter the halls of Marford, the heavy aroma of incense and vanilla fills your nostrils. The hall is illuminated by canvas lanterns strung loosely across the obscured ceiling. A sturdy and wide table is built up from the floorboards; it carved from a thick log of dark wood. The surface of the wide table is blanketed by cloths and linens of red and grey.

Ahead of the table, the red and grey dais is raised from the floor, it capable of sitting those of the Marbrand family. Hanging from the front face of the dais, is the red and grey banner of the noble house, the red lion emblazoned upon its grey cloth.

The slender and tiresome lord of Marbrand sits upon the great chair, his observant gaze surveying those assembled within his halls. Courtiers and servants stand quietly off in the shadows, their voices meek and quiet.

You are taken aback by the tranquillity of the court, the still and poised demeanour of those gathered. Qalisheen servants stand readied at each seat, their olive skin oily with sweat, glass bottles of bourbon and wine in hand.

Placed calculatedly across the table, platters of tropical fruits can be seen. In the midst of these foods, is a wide silvery plate that adorns the golden carcass of a boar. It is roasted to perfection, the skin gold and brown.

It seems the Marbrand lord prepares his halls to extravagant standards for all petitioners.

The elven seneschal steps forward from behind the dais, his robes woven with silk and lace. He calls for all those to bow to the lord, his voice soft and soothing.

You bow out of respect, and then prepare to propose yourself to the river lord.
