At the outbreak of World War Two, Carol, King of the Romanians, an increasingly fascist monarchical dictator quickly spiraling his state into ruin, initially opted for Neutrality. He knew that if he risked fighting the Russians, Romania would lose much of the land it had acquired during World War One. While it had previously allied itself with the Entente, the Allies were too far away to provide aid to Romania, and so the only option was to hope that Romania would not lose her borders.

 

How wrong they were.

 

Neutrality was a false status, another word for a state which was "fit to conquer." Without joining the Axis, Carol had hoped to evade an attack from Russia. However, as the Axis had done with Poland, they had also seen fit to do with romania. In 1939, before the blitzkrieg that brought down Poland, Nazi Germany and the USSR had arranged a deal: in order to further appease Russia, Germany given Stalin permission to conquer Moldova and Bessarabia in the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact that had decided the fate of so much of eastern Europe. Carol found his state being chewed up by the enemical slavs and magyars from two fronts, and the people were not happy.

 

The Iron Guard proposed a solution to this. As the people had increasingly come to admire the force aspects of fascism, the national socialist Iron Guard Party spread like a viral fungus throughout Romanian parliament and staged a successful military coop. The first leader, Horia Sima, was an ardent Iron Guardist, but was as foolish as Carol: he did not anticipate the sever infighting a military coop would engender. He naively appointed Maresal Ion Antonescu as the Iron Guard's honorary leader, a symbolic position that was soon turned into a major influence that, in turn, overthrew the newly made fascist government and replaced it with the National Legionary State of Romania.

 

Antonescu adopted a German-like National Fascist government that quickly gained Axis favor. Before Operation barbarossa in 1941, Antonescu informed Hitler in a telegraph not to worry about the Slavs, and claimed that "When its a question of action against Slavs, you can always count on Romania." And Antonescu stayed true to that word. By the start of Operation barbarossa, 680,000 Romanian troops dove into Soviet Russia to join Nazi forces, the most troops deployed by any ally of Nazi Germany, in silent hope to wickedly appease Hitler into granting Romania Transylvania after the war instead of deferring the region to Hungary.

 

His massive army in wait, Antonescu now sits at the behest of Axis command. Willing to contribute hundreds of thousands of troops to the Axis cause in order to fulfill his peoples' dream of a Greater Romania.

- During WW2 Sweden had declared neutrality once Germany had blitzkrieged Poland and began the long brutal war and during which the Swed's were exporting iron to the German's and the allies till the German's prevented that as the war dragged on and they took Norway. Germany re framed from moving in on Sweden for they feared their supply of iron and steel would be completely removed as the Swed's threatened to destroy all iron mines while Sweden had purchased plans for tanks and other forms of weaponry from the Nazi's they continued to remain relatively neutral although allowing Nazi troops to use their rail ways.

Military:

The usage of a Total Defense policy and large conscription was placed to create the Swedish army which had been modernized since World War 1 and the usage of the Kpist m/45 in 1445 and the Kpist m/37 in 1939. The Swedish military had, before the war built up its military which would been known to have the largest infantry army of the Nordic Countries equipped with even anti-tank warfare.

Total Military estimate:

Armored Fighting Vehicles: 135

- Mostly consisting of light tanks and armored personnel carries the Swedish armored divisions were never that modernized as the use of horses was still used during war times but the growth of Swedish Armored Vehicles grew during the war.

Swedish Infantry(Estimated as I cant find exact numbers): 1,000,000 soldiers

Artillery(Again cant find any numbers): 4,512 

- A large assortment of artillery but mostly consisting of the Bofor's 40 mm gun and Bofor's 20 mm gun(Mainly the 20 mm)

Naval assets: 20 Destroyers 

Air force:

- Fighters: 290  

- Bombers: 346
