What’s the rule you agree with the most?: The rule against metagaming is the one I most agree with, as meta is the absolute bane of RP.  As such, making a rule against its use is something both necessary and vital to any RP server.

 

Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense? There are none which make no sense.

What is roleplaying?: The collaborative act of people to create and play characters in a shared environment and story

 

What is metagaming?: The act of using OOC knowledge to act IC’ly when the character would not have had access to this information.

 

What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: The act of forcing actions on other players without giving them the ability to respond on their own.  Essentially, it forces another character to do something without giving them any say.

Biography  Hailing from a small, unnamed village nestled in a far-off hill-ridden landscape, Bertrand longed to escape the trials and toils of being a peasant-farmer like his forebears before him.  Taking an apprenticeship under Geoffrey Reynard, a Heartlander merchant, at the age of fifteen, he took out to travel the roads and explore.  At the age of twenty-five, Geoffrey passed on, leaving the now-experienced Bertrand as head of the small, wealth-less caravan.  Though most left the crew, Svahlidir Silveraxe, the elf Leorin Nyleren, and Milo Croton remained together, continuing on the beaten paths in search of an honest fortune.

 

                Today, while still paying homage to his Highlander roots, Bertrand speaks in a calm, collected manner, working with his friends to earn a living selling wares.  Though having recently fallen on hard times, Bertrand refuses to give in for both his own sake and that of his partners, and while he knows that his lifespan is far shorter than most due to the Curse of Iblees, he is determined to make the most of his time. 

 

Personality Traits: Slow to anger, Bertrand possesses a charming personality and silver tongue, two traits necessary for any merchant looking to make a decent wage.  It is common for a smile to grace his lips, and unless it concerns the safety of his crew, Bertrand is jovial in most aspects.  In terms of what he likes, a good ale and an open road are the lifeblood of Bertrand; long stays and the problems that brings are his antithesis.

 

Ambitions: His greatest ambition is to travel the world one town at a time, making what fortune he can for his crew and himself to split between them.  He does not want to be “The Great,” nor does he deign to become a god nor one of their champions.  A well-liked, well-traveled merchant, however, is a different story.

 

Strengths/Talents: Speaking and persuasiveness are his key attributes, and an undying loyalty to his crew and friends marks his very soul.

 

Weaknesses/Inabilities: While not terrible at hunting, combat is far outside the merchant’s capabilities. 

 

Appearance: Standing at five-foot-eight-inches, with brown, long hair and a beard to cover his face, Bertrand takes the look of a Highlander seriously and with great ancestral pride.  Brown eyes peer out from his ever-smirking face.  His hands are rough and body well-built from constant walking along the roads.
