The hot winds of the Uzg howled eastward; carried by the voices of Orcish warlords and slavers to combat the cold westward drift from the ocean that was 'The Great Unknown'

The new land was their battleground. A resulting storm would rage violently, rocking the ships of the Sutican settlers to and fro, causing the lesser vessels to slam into the rocks as they attempted to dock in their new found land. One particular ship, "The Broken Toe", piloted by seasoned wizard and a towering knight of stone had found itself  in a special plight, seeking shelter from the winds beside an island that would soon be all of theirs, then the sorcerer's guardian lost it's balance, falling with a slam into the edge of the ship and sliding overboard - the boat (designed for short distance fishing) lost it's balance with ease at this immense shift of weight. It slid and crashed against the rocks before anchor could drop, though the wizard did survive and eventually recover his servant unscathed, his cargo did not.

 

 

The freight of the larger vessels had to be essential:
People.
Food.
Valuables.

There was no room for the quarryload of stone from the old city on board the ship, which concluded in the mage (One Edward Thatch) being unable to supply golems straight away to aid the city's construction under the lady's finest architects. He was left to improvise; Many golemancers would argue that half of the work in building a construct is crafting its core. So in preperation, Thatch had crafted three. One of the castle, one for the city centre and one for the port. Each would be loaded into husks of the new Sutican stone and sent to work the moment the nation's miners set foot on the land. However, the core of a golem is something fragile. A single rune out of place or crack in the original Thanium shape would result in defective behaviour with the golem. In some cases golems were even rumoured to abandon their primary directive - to serve their Impera, instead acting of their own accord. 

 

 

 

The constructs were prepared, the cores were loaded and the runes were lit. Thatch stood and watched the golems boredly, bringing up his list of 'primary settings' for the golems; simple concepts like moving, understanding language and using tools. However it wasn't until completing this sheet that the wizard would have truly examined the beings to note something amiss. Where the eerily placed runes that functioned as eyes usually glowed a brilliant blue, these glowed red. The impera was cast aside like a ragdoll.

After tirelessly searching the thick jungles of the isles, it proved time to inform the people of what had to be done.

Fliers would be put up around the new settlements and the docked fleet, spreading word to every Sutican of the court wizard's call.

 

"All able bodied Suticans are encouraged to report to the central city fountain of our island capital come the ides of summer, 1554. You are expected to bring your own equipment in order to combat the malfunctional stone menace that plagues our western forests. You shall rendezvous with the Court Wizard and the hunt shall begin. Good Princess Lilyana has pledged to reward the protectors of her land handsomely, though none are to be commissioned unwillingly to this task. It is important that the constructs in question are not underestimated."
