Devised by the hand of Abdiel Ipos, the Condordat of the Ashkeeper is a treaty built upon the purpose of world order under the premise of “containment of the dark”; alluding to appointing an individual or small conglomerate of individuals as those whom, for the good of the corporeal realm, bear the burden of controlling and containing those discerned as undead. This covenant, forged by the Ashkeeper himself, bears relation to the Undead Sodality of Redshrouds, which is legion of undying who are dedicated by oath to protect the lands from incursions of chaotic forces of the beyond.

The accord is as thus:

The Concordat of the Ashkeeper

It is by the contents of this document that, by the honor of the Ashkeeper and his fellowmen the Soulwarden and the Wraithheir that any covenant defined as just by this proclamation bears the right of “containment of the Dark”; a mantle which grants responsibility to contain the hordes of undead who come to roam the lands under no master, for the purpose of either keeping them from the domains of the living, or for the purpose of giving them purpose again akin to the duties of the Redshrouds.

The good Ashen Concordat concretes a sum of rights and rules to be followed by those who both sign the treaty and by those whom it grants rights to. The “Ashen Rights” shall be regarded firstmost:

The Ashen Rights

i: The bearers of the Ashen Rights shall hold authority over the masterless undead, and under the tolerance of those whom sign, undead may be pursued in their lands and rallied under the banner of the appointed Ashkeeper, the Soulwarden, and the Wraithheir.

ii: The bearers of the Ashen Rights shall hold the sanction to give good motive to rallied undead, and by the example of the Undead Redshrouds, may put them to worldly service to once more give them purpose.

iii: The bearers of the Ashen Rights shall hold the sanction to make rise of certain undead for the purpose of putting them to similar, goodly use; allowing for the dead to return not to terrorize the living, but to covet the living world, and safeguard it for the eternity their undeath allows.

iv: The bearers of the Ashen Rights shall hold the privilege to not be marked as criminals in the lands of those who sign this document, under the premise that the bearers of the Ashen Rights do not seek to deter the wellbeing of these places by breaking the Ashen Rules of the Concordat.

v: The bearers of the Ashen Rights shall hold the justification to utilize their allocated forces in times of unjust war or conflict against them under the premise that they did not incite such a transpiration first.

vi: The bearers of the Ashen Rights shall hold the sanction to defend themselves rightfully from the zeal of Aengulite orders and godly conglomerates in the lands of those who signed, with or without support of the state, under the premise they did not incite such a transpiration first.

vii: The bearers of the Ashen Rights shall hold the sanction to support the lands of the signed in times of disparity incited by agencies of chaos, and shall hold the sanction to support the mortal world in the protection and preservation of the corporeal ordinary against invasive forces of the beyond.

viii: The bearers of the Ashen Rights shall hold the sanction to liberate undead from deific or bedlamic masters as to either free them from undeath or to put their undying existence to benevolent purposes granted by the Ashkeeper.

The Ashen Rules

i: The adherents of the Ashen Rules shall not use their rallied undead to deter the progress of the mortal world, nor to impose unrelated or necessary ideals upon it.

ii: The adherents of the Ashen Rules shall not stand as threats to greater embodiments of mortality under any circumstances.

iii: The adherents of the Ashen Rules shall not intervene in political or international matters, and only under the premise that one nation shall be assisted with aggression towards another designated as a threat to the mortal ordinary or defined as a state of chaos.

iv: The adherents of the Ashen Rules shall not oppose Aengulite orders through baseless aggression, and only in retaliation; and they shall seek a peaceful end unless eradication of the enemy is the only option.

v: The adherents of the Ashen Rules shall not affiliate themselves with any faction or conglomerate in the suggestion of servitude; they shall not bend the knee to the living, nor shall they conquer them.

Signatures

Those who agree to the Concordat are expected to sign this document in their blood; not by ritualistic or dark-arcanic process or condemnation, but to affirm their agreement in the most base of ways. Those whom sign are as thus:

[ To be occupied. ]

The Concordat of the Ashkeeper is not a document that exists publically. However, there lingers sparse rumors upon the winds that speak of its rights, its rules, and it’s essential premise: the authorized control of the arisen dead. Word of such a mantle’s documentation would eventually reach a variety of places soon after being drafted in finality.

Writ in the onyx sediment of embalming fluid, the lifeblood and filling to his many husks, the Barrowlord of the Synod encloses his signature thusly;

"Kozilek."

A simple notice was sent to the Ashkeeper, lettered boldly and with some finesse.

No, we shall not give murderers and incestuous degenerates peace. We agree to an assembly, but not the rules that grant Tahariaens and other deific cults room to spread their zealous rhetoric.

Sincerely, The High Inquisitors of the Covenant.
