A Change in Regency

18th of the First Seed, 1557

I, Edward d’Ambray, hereby resign from my place as Lord Regent of Lorraine. I have chosen Lady Eleanore Rothesay to take my place as Regent until such a time as Lothaire d’Amaury decides on his path or a new heir comes of age. I trust Lady Rothesay to maintain the state of Lorraine and to preside over it from her family’s keep in Summerhall.

I have decided to move on in life being drawn to serve my faith. I feel GOD is calling me to spend the next chapter of my time on this earth as a vessel of his righteousness. Now I seek to help people from a more humble position having realized that my time as regent has made me far more bitter than a man of faith should be. One day perhaps I’ll return to aid my friend’s house, but it has not been the same since his departure from this world and I’m drawn towards the Church.

Edward d’Ambray

Adelaide fans her face idly with the missive as she watches her daughter Charlotte run circles around the courtyard.

"Je te dis merde, sister of mine."  She sighs, before putting on a bright smile for Charlotte.

Garsto Leaff would nod in approval.

"I've lived in summerhall since its beginning."

He'd chuckle,

"Does that make me the the longest person to live in Summerhall?"

He'd shrug, moving from his home and going to congratulate the Rothesay.

3 hours ago, Semihilyus said:

"I dont think it is wise to declare someone Regent who arrived to our Duchy for like couple of Saints Days, at most a week.Still, i will remember you as a good man Edward d'Ambray." Says Mehmed Sungur, nodding with respect.

Edward nods to the Turk as he consolidates his things to his quaint shack in Lorraine, "Eleanore is well known to Lorraine my friend. Take a step back in time to when she had a different name and you will understand my choice. I would not leave Lorraine in the hands of someone that would not be trusted by my liege, GOD rest his soul. It will become clearer if you were to look deeper at the choice."
