What’s the rule you agree with the most?: I like the rule about your skin applying to your character. I just find it generically odd if everyone is playing as an honest hardworking doctor while looking like Donald Duck.

How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?: I was just cruising on the internet for a cool role-play server, and here I am.

What is roleplaying?: Role-playing, for me, is to be something that you are not in real life, to enter a different world that allows you to accomplish anything that you want, from being a king to an astronaut, a dragon to a huge gorilla, where any events can happen.

What is metagaming?: Metagaming is like a large amount of information that's breaking the fourth wall. It's like affecting your strategy using information known that's out of the game, such as preparing for a huge event that wasn't supposed to be known by your character, but you specifically. This is generally disliked in role-play servers.

What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Giving yourself an unfair advantage, typically against a player without their consent, such as saying "I pro MLG sniped Dave and he instantly died," without actually getting their permission. This is also generally disliked in role-play servers.

 

In-Character Information
Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

 

Character’s name: Jackson Allwood

Character’s sex: male, duh.

Character’s race: Human/Heartlander

Character’s age: 20

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add three references to the server lore.): Jackson always lived in the city of Riga with loving parents. His parents had always read him bedtime stories, some horrifying, some happy. His parents told him about the curse that was put on humanity of living short lives. This reminded Jackson how precious life is. Both of Jackson's parents were farmers, but they wanted Jackson to grow up to be a wealthy ore miner because of all the ore in Riga.

He always acted childish, even when he finally reached his eighteenth birthday and all his friends were trying to achieve the medieval version of a white picket fence. Before he was a teenager, he always tried to hang out with the older kids, but he got rejected. Jackson tried to learn from the older kids, to be as mature as them, but he never achieved that. As for kids that were Jackson's age, the kids that seemed as strong as orcs picked on him. They'd always beat him after school ended. When Jackson started entering his pre-teen years, he tried working out. Obviously, he couldn't gain any muscles and he got extremely upset. Jackson even almost tried using dark magic to make him stronger, but his father talked him out of it. His father had told him that if he couldn't have the upper hand in strength, maybe he should try to gain a different type of advantage, causing Jackson to train his speed to a very large extent. Jackson's father said that when he was in the guard force, all his friends were good with swords, but he was good with a bow.

Once when going for a run in the forest, Jackson saw a huge man wearing rags. He hid in a bush and watched him. Jackson was about to say hello, but then the man turned his face and he only had one eye! Jackson didn't know what this thing was, if it was hostile or not, but he figured that it'd be called a cyclopes. Jackson said hello, and the cyclopes turned around and said "FOOD!" The cyclopes ran after Jackson as he ran and scratched at his back with their overgrown nails. Jackson felt an immense pain but ran faster, finally outrunning the cyclopes and making it out of the forest. Jackson continued to train his speed, eventually accomplishing a sub five-minute mile, and the bullies were no longer to harm him.

With the bullies finally off of Jackson's back, he thought that he had the perfect life, until one day, when he was thirteen years old, his house had burned down with his parents in it. Jackson was sent to his uncle's tavern. Jackson's uncle was abusive and an alcoholic. He always made him do chores and made Jackson get less than seven hours of sleep each night. The main reason that Jackson's uncle was so upset all the time was that he had lost his job and money from the reconstruction of Riga in 1552. Jackson's grandmother, whom he never met, also died from the Vailor plague in 1526, causing Jackson's dad, Jackson's uncle's older brother, to run off. Whenever Jackson didn't do his chores fast enough, or if his uncle was drunk, or both, he would get beaten. Eventually, when Jackson graduated from his final school at age 18, he headed out to explore the world, hopping from town to town doing small jobs such as slaying off (or trying to slay off) giant crabs and trolls for money or sometimes to just help. He later found out that his uncle died of a mysterious flu.

Personality Traits: Jackson always tended to be more optimistic than most, but at the same time, more annoying. He also is very stubborn, especially about what food he eats. Jackson tries to stick to a diet of apples only, due to the fact that they're so sweet.

Ambitions: Jackson always wanted to be a void mage, but never really got the education to be one, due to the fact that his parents had died but wanted him to be a wealthy ore miner because of all the ore in Riga and that he was too busy doing chores for his uncle than to learn how to do magic.

Strengths/Talents: Jackson is extremely good at running; he can run a mile in less than five minutes. This was never apparent to anyone that he knew, but he also is good at cooking. Whenever his parents were away, he practiced making special types of soup and adding new spices to certain meats. He usually didn't like eating non-sweets, but he made decent food so he tried it out anyway.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: Jackson is not very good at acting mature. He also tends to throw tantrums when something isn't the way that he wants it, such as when his friend purposely gets him a different type of apple. He is also picky with his food; he only wants to eat sweets, but when needed (such as when he is freaking starving), he will eat something else. Jackson also isn't very strong physically, which is why he learned to run instead of try to fight.

Appearance: Jackson is an average height guy who has a face that makes him look younger than most men his age. He has very dark brown hair with light brown eyes. He has many scars on his back from the time that he was attacked by a cyclopes; he barely escaped out of the woods because of his speed. Jackson always has a bright smile on his face, mainly because of his personality.
