Hello!

I will keep this sort and simple, hopefully we can get a good discussion up about this!

Keep it clean if you decide to enter the fray.

Basically had a bit of a chat some time ago and I really feel the curse has to be balanced.

Currently humans gets the hard end of the stick here with their "aging" so to put it.

A human will have an estimate of TWO years and not more unless it you wish to break lore.

It's the a curse that punish you OOCly and not ICly.

Next there is Orcs, who has their blood lust and unofficially makes them crazy even if you wants to play  a more relaxed character.

Hard thing to master it is.

The Dwarven curse is balanced, with greedy buggers wanting gold and I have seen it frequently RP'd out it's good.

And then..we got the elven curse which..does nothing to give the race a disadvantage like the others. I see this more often enough, elves with 3 or more children.

Like Frank once said "It needs to stop".

I suggest a tweak of this curse so that it has meaning, to balance it out so that it is meaningful and isn't ruled out bu the immortality.

The idea would be a family of a mother/father/child, one child or the curse loses it's very meaning.

That is all, remember to be nice if you decide to give your opinion!

To have it possibly changed to something relevant and impactful. A curse like it should be.

I think the curses should all be switched up, the human one is pointless

Are you saying elves should only be able to have one child because that would make them an insolvent species.

It makes sense to have it the way it is now I would say.

I am. It doesn't impact the everyday life of an elven roleplay the way the orc bloodlust do to an orc or the aging of a human.

Now you could argue that "humans do not age" but the fact that after a while it is enforced that you are old.

An elf lives for roughly 1000 years, and a human lives till 100. Now, lets say they both have kids, every ten years. The elf would have 100 kids, and the human would have 10 kids. Now, them having 3 kids in their lifetime doesn't seem so big, does it? The whole curse thing has been talked about multiple times before.

But nobody adheres to it simply because they want to play young characters. It would be better to have something less cliche

As someone who has run the elven playerbase for 3 years and been a GM for 2 months let me just say that you can implement all the rules you want but the day to day reality of actually implementing them will be a much different story.

So you want elves to be terminal?

I know it has been talked about but nothing has been done.

If you refer to this the post Leowarrior wrote here it says " In a society that struggles to create children " which i translate to family life being a big part but holds little value if the lore says it does but it isn't the reality.

No? But the why have the curse if it is not what happens? Which is why I suggested a change to the family size OR the curse.

Yeah, which is why once again you either as the elven community take stance on this matter as a whole or change the curse or something that makes sense.

You'll find that not many elven parents have too many blood children, having two or three at most and the rest adopted. The ones running around as elven children, are orphans from NPC parents. This isn't exactly a thing that the lore can stop, and it's less likely to actually do good, if changing it.
