The Warhawke Secession

A large meeting hall would be filled with Warhawkes. Many of them would appear to be confused as to why they’d meet. As their Chieftains, Rei and Ray with Elder Cole quickly on their tail, the room would become oddly silent. Only footsteps would be heard as they walked slowly up to their seats.

“Now is our time, brothers and sisters.” the brothers Rei and Ray would say in unison.

As they began to discuss what was about to happen, it’d be made quite clear to all of the other Warhawkes what needed to be done if we’re to live a free life without chains binding us. As the meeting draws to a close, one piece of parchment would be seen leaving within the hands of Elder Cole. The note would have a wax stamp of a hawk imprinted into it. He’d step out from the meeting room and into the courtyard of the keep.

“This is our land. We built this keep with our own blood, sweat and tears.” he’d say softly.

He whistles as a large hawk would come swooping down into the keep. Cole holds his arm out for the bird to land on.

“Take it to John Sigismund Horen, Emperor of Oren.” he’d slip the piece of parchment in between a leather strap and the birds leg before snugging the strap tightly. He’d bob his arm up and down before throwing the bird into the air. The hawk would take flight quickly and disappear into the night.

The note would read

“Dear John Sigismund Horen,

We will not offer any more aid to the Orenian empire from this day forth. The land is rightfully ours. We declare independence.”

The note would be signed “Warhawkes.” at the bottom of the page in large and almost barbaric handwriting.

An Anpalais servant brings the letter to the emperor with a quivering hand, fearing his imperial majesty's reaction to such an outrageous decleration.
