Dak'ir lets a ragged sigh loose as he sits beside his wife in their home. He smiles wearily to her, his tired eyes weathered beyond his years. He says nothing to her before raising his hand and brushing her cheek lightly. His gaze is soon distracted however as the familiar mumbles and ruffling of the nearby crib signal his daughter's awakening.

"No point in trying to be quiet now, hm?"

Dak'ir chuckles as he and Lielle share a glance. He hops up from the bed, scooping up his daughter as she climbs over the crib's railing. He holds her high above his head and she giggles and squeels.

"We're going to need to get you a proper bed soon, my little star."

Dak'ir sets her down, ruffling her hair before she bolts off to play. He watches her for a moment, his miracle that was nearly taken by the warhawkes and their human masters. He shakes his head, still doing his best to forget that day. Looking over his shoulder to Lielle he purses his lips.

"I think it's time, love. I need to go find Tareyns and call the Onyx Council."

Lielle nods to him, knowing what this meant, it's severity.

Later that night upon the Ker'nor's peek, the council gathered. The Masters, the Court Magos, and the Hierarchs all stood before their Primarch to hear his words. Tarenys stood at Dak'ir's side, adorned in the armour of the Ordinators of old. Dak'ir stepped forward.

"As most of you know, my ability to lead has been dwindling for a long time now, hence why I reformed this council in the first place. But standing at the helm and not giving orders isn't doing our people any good... From here on, I'll be stepping down from that helm. From here on, I'll be taking over the temple, teaching our people of the Ancestors and forming a proper priesthood. I'll still be here to offer my advice and council. But I can no longer lead..."

Dak'ir steps to the side, two figures clad in the Div'cruan's armour approach and kneel before him.

"My sons. Arveldir and Jayce will both be named Princes and take the reigns. I trust that you'll all treat them with the same kindness and respect you've treated me. And that you'll ever give them the same sound advice as well. The Spirits and Ancestors alike require my aid now. As does my family. But you all know I am here for each of you should you need me. In midnight clad, my kin and thank you for your service."

Spoiler

Haaaappy birthday tooooo meeeeee! Well that was a couple days ago but all the same. My job, my pursuit of shamanism and new rp don't leave me much time for this position and haven't for a long time. I've been doing this for more than two years now and damn it all, I've been at it for far too long. I'm still going to be heavily involved in the dark elf community of course, I've come to terms with it being impossible for me to fully leave it but now I don't need to run it. I can sit from the sidelines and write things for the darkies without the stress of it all. Ooh, just thinking about it makes me happy.

So get down folks, and enjoy DrunkenSnuggles and BrokenHelix and your new Princes.

Arveldir would have his head held down as he mutters softly spoken words of respect to Der'es Noxius, and after a few moments he would stand, look to his father and salute, "In midnight clad."

Mithius smiles to himself and raises his tankard of afternoon ale, "You've earned your rest, my friend!" He cheers before taking a long swig. Invitations would soon be written out for celebratory events...
