REFORMED TAX CODE ACT, 1586
Issued and confirmed by his Excellency, the Minister of the Interior Sylvestre II of House Halcourt on behalf of his Imperial Majesty the Holy Orenian Emperor Philip I Frederick, 15th of the Grand Harvest, 1586

TO OUR BELOVED SUBJECTS,

The Imperial Administration sees fit to reform the tax code so as to ensure the crown is receiving the profits which are rightfully its due, and so as to re-adjust tax rates to fit with the modern incomes of various estates and properties. The modern Empire has many expenses, which must be logically filled so as to maintain a safe and stable economic state, and thusly some areas of our great capital have found their tax rates raised; however, others may find their rates now lower. The Imperial Administration has also seen fit to reform the manner by which tax papers are collected. The good peoples of Johannesburg henceforth shall deliver their tax papers at the tax office which can be found directly to the right of Lucien's Gate at the entrance to our grand city. The administration doth find these reforms necessary to adapt to a changing economic climate and fund our ever growing Empire.

I. PROCEDURES

A. TAX PAYMENT
The method by which good citizens pay their required taxes has been reformed so as to promote a more efficient, steadfast, and strong bureaucracy. The aforementioned methods are detailed below.

1. TAX PAPERS
The people of Johannesburg shall continue to procure and purchase tax papers at the rate of 25 mina per, via the stall at the bank. This is directly by the main square of the city. It is simple mathematics to determine how many papers you ought to buy.
Are you taxed 200 a week? 25x8=200 therefore you should buy 8 papers.

2. TAX OFFICE
No longer shall the stewards spend numerous wasted hours traveling the city to collect the tax papers. They shall instead be in one centralized location, the Tax Office which is beside the gate. All properties within the city have delivery boxes within this office and it is required that papers are delivered here.

3. TAX PERIODS
A tax period lasts 7 saint's days and begins on the 1st saint day of a week. One pays their tax bracket once a tax period [MONDAY of each week at midnight CST].They may at latest be paid at midnight on that final saint's day. If you will be gone for prolonged periods of time, speak to the steward general about paying far in advance.

B. TAX WARNINGS
One who fails to pay the allotted tax bracket for a given tax period shall be issued a singular tax warning. After 2 tax warnings, one will be forcefully and without warning evicted from their home. They shall also own the entirety of those 3 tax period's missing taxes, and an additional 100 mina collection fee.

C. TAX EXEMPTIONS
Only specific public officials are tax exempt at the emperor's discretion, or those whom the emperor in his forever august mercy sees fit to reward with tax exemption. You will NOT be awarded tax exemption unless you meet one of those prerequisites.
