Wood Elf RP for Dummies

I've added a new anecdote which should soothe people's jimmies

Bare in mind that no one will OOCly force you to follow this, and these are guidelines, not rules. However, how your character acts will affect how people treat them, this will happen wherever you go (For example, practicing wood elven religion in Oren won't be taken kindly!) What this guide will do help you fit in with mainstream wood elf culture!

Also, unique individualism can occur at any level, not only the highest, and personally if you can implement it at a micro (say, a character's hobbies, mannerism) rather than macro level (political ideologies, allegiances in the global scheme of things), I believe you'll likely find much more success with your characters.

Exactly! This is why I dislike it when people think conforming to a culture means you can't be unique. Belonging to a culture is what makes you unique, and it doesnt even define you. You can be an Aspect worshipping wood elf like the rest of the wood elves, but have any number of personal quirks which are unique to you.

I've also hidden off topic and redundant posts, but core feedback and helpful comments have been kept.

Since nobody appears to be giving actual feedback on the guide itself, I volunteer as tribute.

I think it's written well, it covers all the angles. But.... it kinda resembles an RP post, which confuses me, mostly because a lot of this could be addressed in an RP post(albeit with a few tweaks) instead of an OOC one.

But I understand your attempting to reach out to newbies for clarification, though, I still think you could've made this work with just an RP written guide.

Say, a city travel guide, etc etc.

Otherwise, quite nice, I understand a good portion of the complaints here but it didn't catch me because he specifically stated it was for use if you chose to live within the walls of the wood elven province, therefore, he isn't suggesting any wood elves outside of it need to conform to these guidelines.

Well written, I came into this expecting a heavy handed bit that I would end up not liking, but I was pleasantly surprised. Good job!

Please highlight somewhere that wood elves are peace-loving and generally don't do harm unless it's nesesscary.

If I get robbed by another band of bow-toting wood elves I swear to god.
