Food Boxes Plugin Guide

Food Boxes is a plugin developed to allow storing and selling food, but that doesn't store cooked food. This idea was presented by Freya.

You can make food boxes in the crafting table, in the Crates folder, they require no mininum level or crafting time to make.

The prices are below:

Food Box - 4 Oak/Sprunce/Birch/Jungle logs

Salted Food Box - 4 Oak/Sprunce/Birch/Jungle logs, 1 Salt

Iced Food Box - 4 Oak/Sprunce/Birch/Jungle logs, 1 Packed Ice

Food Crate - 12 Oak/Sprunce/Birch/Jungle logs

Salted Food Crate - 12 Oak/Sprunce/Birch/Jungle logs, 4 Salt

Iced Food Crate - 12 Oak/Sprunce/Birch/Jungle logs, 4 Packed Ice

Food Cart - 36 Acasia/Dark Oak logs

Salted Food Cart - 36 Acasia/Dark Oak logs, 8 Packed Ice

Iced Food Cart - 36 Acasia/Dark Oak logs, 8 Packed Ice

Difference between boxes, crates and carts. Boxes hold up to 16 items, Crates up to 32, and Carts up to 64. This is each, the items are stackable if they have the same amount of food inside of them (normally better to stack them when full). If you add food to already stacked boxes, the food will be divided throughout them. To store the food, simply click on the box with some food in hand, only uncooked food with expiration data can be placed. When you store them, they will look alike to this:

Difference between normal boxes, Salted and Iced. This has to do with how much food is lost when storing it. Normal boxes store 55% of the food, Salted store 75% and Iced store 85%.

This items should work in autoshops, and to get the food in the box simply right click with the box in hand. The box does get destroyed when you do this.

Main job of the plugin is to allow farmers, lumberjacks, breeders and fishers to have something to do with all the food they get and have nothing to do with because of the short expire date. And to also help the chefs get the food they need for their recipes. Hope the plugin is liked!

What do you mean the food is lost? It gets outright deleted or what? And why do the more expensive box types have an increased "loss" percentage?

Also is there a reason why the recipes requires specific types of wood? Seems completely arbitrary and pointless. Any wood type should work.

Better boxes store more, the percentages are stored, not loss. And it loses items because it resets expiration date. The different types of wood is not really true. I mean, the acacia kind of is but I can change it, the others while saying Oak Wood, mean... Oak, Sprunce, Jungle and Birch logs.

Edit: I wrote it wrong, woops. Fixed now

I have attempted to craft these food boxes.

The ones that ask for oak specificly will only work with oak wood. But those that ask for acacia wood will work with any wood type.

I then attempted to store about 15 apples in a regular cart. It then displayed having 3.72 apples stored, confirming my suspicion that crates do indeed destroy food for no reason. Furthermore, when attempting to retrieve my remaining apples or interacting with the cart in any way a message pops up "The Food Cart is empty" and nothing else happens.

Don't know what to tell you man, this is sloppy at best.

Read the guide. 15 * 58% = 4.35 (close I guess). And Apples or something else that is an apple item but named pinecone/banana/etc? There are a few bugs due to code changes. They should be fixed soon.

And yes, you lose items. This is not a thanhium box, you lose items based on the box type an expire time.

Other than the relatively low storing capacity, the store% being much lower than the given values and high crafting cost of the crates, they work appropriately at the moment.
