OzYmandi 647 Share Posted February 10, 2017 So you wanna' fight? Its like that song, if y'wanna be dumb, you gotta be though. Y'wanna win a fight, you gotta be tough. Know your enemy. ((OOC parts will be in Red)) So, t'e firs' t'ing you wanna do if its a real figh', yew'll want to be strategic, know yer enemy head tae toe an' also in' t' inside. Predict your opponent's next emote. Consider ALL scenarios, even if they involve your possible death or your glorious win. Thats key. You have to be ready to respond decently to one's emote, let it be a 4 line, detailed emote or a simple 1 line emote. After ye do t'at, ye 'now yer enemy, ye can go an' make yer firs'.. Or secon' move. Remembah! Yew'll want tae be STRA-TE-GIC! Don' go joggin', jumpin', slashin' like no-one's business. After those predictions of ALL the scenarios and the opponent made his/her move, its time for your emote. Always remember to be as realistic as possible: Good: *attempts to take a step forward, sending/launching/stabbing towards [Opponent's area of body and name (Bobby's stomach)]. Bad: *jumps forward with sword/axe/hammer in hand, swinging it down upon [Opponent's name and area], trying to cause maximum damage. Why is it bad? Firstly, you're jumping forward, giving a great possibility for a miss or leaving you open for any attacks. Second, lets say you're fighting an orc. If you jump towards an orc, he/her (if you're a human) can simply use his/her arm or legs to kick or punch you back. Aftah dat, ya wanna be smart.. Yew're opponent'll mos' loikely try tae dodge yer, strike yer back or parry yer attack! Always be careful fer t'at. You'll want to predict this too, as your opponent can try to hold you, stab you, swing at you, kick you, etc. If that case happens, again, you'll have to predict every single scenario, even the one including your death. Example: Situation 1: Bobby yelps as his tummy is stabbed at, sending his frail arms with his rusty sword towards the opponent's arm, trying to slash at it with his remaining might! Situation 2: Bobby tries to strafe to the left at the incoming strike, attempting to dodge it for minimun to no damage. Situation 3: Bobby uses his trusty, yet rusty, sword to parry the incoming attack, slapping it to the side if sucessful. After t'at 'appens, yew're wanna either fall back sligh'ly ter regain yerself and all, or continue on wit' another attack to badly weaken yer enemy. Y'know 'ow it is, aye? Three possible situations in here: You strike again, you get hit or you fall back. If you strike again, and, lets say, you're really close to your enemy and you try to hit again. The distance gives you both an advantage: Not much distance to travel for an attack aswell as not much room for the attacker, favouring the defender more, if the defender wasn't hurt already. The second situation, were you get hit, will possibly injure you (again, if they're in close range) and make you fall back. If you don't get injured and try the third situation, you have more room to think on your next move and to think on how you're gonna do it. Again, predict all scenarios; Combat Roleplay is all about deducing your enemy's move. Pure mathematics. Hehe. Now t'at ye eitah stroiked again o' fell back, both o' yer ar' possibleh toired, or injured, o' both. Don' take any risky moves, unle' t' reward comes roigh' after. The beginning of the end of the combat, you and your opponent both will be tired and/or injured, unless your a badass demi-god with Jesus reflexes. Which you're most likely not. You don't want to be risky, unless you have a great opening for a final blow, that is, if you want to end your enemy, or if you have an opening for escape, if you are outnumbered or outgeared. If none of those happen, you'll want to be predicting the scenarios again, based off your injuries, current state and all. Again, predict death, life, victory and loss. If you're too proud to admit defeat, Combat Roleplay is not for you. Maybe PvP Defaulting is more your thing. Now, if yer 'pponent decides t' attack again, even if inju'ed, yew'll wonna try t' 'tay a defensive 'tance and deflect, stop or even strike back yer 'pponent. The RP sentence summed it up pretty good. Your opponent will probably try to attack you, so be defensive, be smart. Don't go all jumpy-jump, Jesus-like. The end of the combat is near. Don't fret. If you followed this guide, you'll probably die... Or live! Who knows. Try t' attack yer 'pponent 'gain. Dunno, launch yeself fo'ward. Don' go all suicidal, though. Ye'll jus' kill yahself loike an idio'. Yep. Try to strike? What bad could happen unless freak-a-fracking death? Well, if it is like that, try to get a good hit, like this: A: Murgosh (my main), injured, takes a few steps forward, raising his warhammer above his head and thundering down towards the {Inser opponent}'s shoulder, aiming to cripple him badly, leaving his rib and torax area for attacks. Or try to stay more defensive: B: Murgosh, holding his stomach, lets out a grumble of pain and holds his warhammer in front of him in a defensive stance, eyeing his movement's positions closely. T'is basicalleh wot ye go' do, laddeh. Follow wot ah say tae yer and yew'll prolly' do good. O' not... Yep! This is the end of this guide! I hope I summed it up pretty decently, I hope it is alright, since its my first attempt at a guide. Thanks for reading and Happy Roleplaying, peeps! -Soviet.
