Northspawn Tales: Red Beaches.

The Red Beaches.

Ursas arrive and leave, many passing by unoticed, but some Ursas leaving a significant mark on the Northspawn history. Let it be through discoveries, raids or accomplishments, those who leave their mark are praised throughout hisotry.

 

It was the case of Kótvandr Ívthmal. The first and only Ívthmal Ursa.

 

The northspawn used to inhabit a small portion of the north, in Tahn. There was a small chunk of dirt floating in the seas close to were the main capital was, and were the Ívthmal main settlement was too. It was then that Kótvandr decided to inovate his people.

He grabed a piece of paper, and skectched what would, in these days, appear as a crude, tribal boat. It was that sketch that would save the northspawn from the arriving winter.

 

"You" Kótvandr called up to a builder who was finishing up a table

He then passed the instructions to the buidlers, alongside the sketch, and tasked him to deliver it after a day. And so did the builder and his mates start working, on what the northspawn called "Hugmynd Vitfittingur er" ((Madman's Idea)).

 

The day followed.

 

Kótvandr got his most elite warriors and set off on that crude boat, unusually precautious, Kótvandr had tied a rope that help the Boat to the Ívthmal settlement. 

 

The peninsula was suffering from the absence of wood, because their leader thought it was a brilliant idea to use it all on their settlement; which made Kótvandr's life difficult.

 

Once they settled on the beach, they were met by furious, flaming arrows. They took down Varr Ahlström and Otto Ívthmal, also injuring Vüden Ívthmal on the shoulder.

 

They kept charging, gloriously through the waves of arrows and enemies, chopping down, stabbing, cutting heads.

 

And they arrived at the front gate. Made out of crude dark oak, they started rammering it down with shield bashes and axe strikes.

 

It fell. And there was Ragnar Bjarndýr waiting for them, alongside the traitorous Hjâll Ahlström.

 

Kótvandr and Vüden approached, and the brawl began. 

But it was short lived.

 

Kótvandr finished Hjâll with a single axe strike straight to the neck, slashing the head off its shoulders.

 

Vüden stuck a sword into Ragnar's stomach and opened it, guts splashing on the ground.

 

The first northspawn raid was succesful, and so the era of expert navigators began.

 

 

"Með sjónum við förum, chopping manninn þinn, að taka konur og brenna niður borg!"

Brynjolf hears the tale again, grimacing at the Ivthmal.

Thain remembers these northspawn when they were in Sutica. Strangely enough, the memory ended with the northspawn fleeing across a bridge, before being driven off, and jumping into the water, in heavy armor, ultimately all drowning or dying to Sutican arrowfire!
