Westerlandic forces hold of the undead assault on Leopold's wall- circa 1604

The sun shone brightly upon the orange fields of carrots and along the ice wooden shingled roofs of Bastion, for many it had been a hectic and sad week after the destruction of Quarryville during the undead counterattack. The undead had been pushed beyond Leopold’s Wall for the first time in a while the people of the Westerlands had some breathing room. The forces of Mordring however had other plans.

While soldiers of the Westerlands lined up on the mustering grounds to prepare for a patrol they heard shouts and turned to see smoke rising in the distance, the undead were determined, They would take the wall and end the pitiful existance of the Westerlands and take Bastion in Mordring’s name. Scouts placed their ramshackle ladders up against Leopold's wall as loose bones and dangling flesh bodies wielding rusty weapons clambered over the wall. Within moments the Undead scouts quickly found themselves blade to blade and outmatched by the superior westerlandic and Uruk forces. “Charge!! Fight! For Mordring!” The newly promoted undead lieutenant screeched to his forces in the forest. With his new promotion he was determined to keep it. Another wave of undead riders slammed into the sturdy wooden palisade clambering over the top to engage in fierce combat with the stout defenders. Over the forest however a new threat lingered, soaring closer, yells came up from the already engaged human and orc forces alerting one another to the flying demon now hurling spells towards the wall. Combat was fierce, arrows flew, swords parried. Westerlandic soldiers killed by the forces of Mordring quickly reanimated and joined the undead on their assault of the wall. Soon enough however the humans got their break, the last of numerous volleys of arrows plunged into the demon and it slammed to the grass and moss outside the palisade. The forces of the Westerland quickly took their places at the wall loosing volley after volley of arrows at the undead charging out of the forest and soon it fell quiet.

“Team one! Team two! Prepare to move into the forest! Team three remain at the gate!” Cried Commander Polaren as the forces fell into rank and marched into the forest. Not even a few hundred yards out the undead lieutenant unleashed his reserve force of spider cavalry and it slammed into the unprepared and spread out human forces. Through skill and sheer luck the brave men of the westerlands and their allies formed a loose line and began to push back against the undead advance. Blade met flesh, arrows flew through the dense thicket to hit their mark, soon enough however the forest fell silent again. The forces of Mordring could not keep up with the will of humanity to survive. Weakened by their previous defeat the Undead attack upon Leopold's wall was ruined. For now the Westerlands held onto the scrap of land they had claimed. However it would be a long road ahead.
