What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Utilizing in-game systems to maximize your character towards a certain goal, disregarding story and other elements.

 

In-Character Information

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add three references to the server lore): (where does your character come from?; where have they traveled to?; what year were they born in? et cetera.) Born in The First Seed, in 1532, Guyden Willow lived his youth within the serene groves just on the outskirts of Laureh’lin. Growing up amongst few other members of the Torena seed beside his parents, their family practiced Aspectism similar to most Wood Elves. Embracing a more loose incarnation of it to fit into their daily affairs. Managing an Inn that they built from the ground up, they offered services of all sorts to travelers who happened to be passing through Laureh’lin. Having constructed the Inn before he was even born, growing up he assisted his family with its daily management. Catering to travelers, hunting and harvesting their food, crafting goods for their inhabitants to purchase, these chain of tasks exposed him to many different experiences.

    Everything changed one day in 1550, when Guyden was out hunting game. A figure ambushed him, cloaked from head to toe in dirty rags. After a swift blow to Guyden’s head with a mace, he was dragged away unconscious, and several days later, he was sold off as a slave to a crew of pirates. He served these pirates for an Elven Week (a year), keeping the ship clean, hauling plundered goods here or there, acting as a meat shield at the first signs of danger, all while being pushed around and mocked. Then, one day, an opportunity presented itself. His heinous captors came into conflict with a rival pirate crew. As the screams of men and the clashing of metal eventually came to a stop, only Guyden remained among the crew of his former captors. Not wasting time, he pleaded for the cutthroats to show him mercy, and thus, traded one owner for another. Another two Elven Weeks passed, unlike the first crew however, Guyden gradually rose from the position of slave to the ship’s official cook. Gaining the trust of his fellow crew members over time. Then, on a chilly night in The Deep Cold, he took action. Taking the poison their crew had recently acquired in order to contaminate a small town’s drinking water, he mixed it in with their supplies of rum. Killing the entirety of the crew in their sleep.

    After many extensive detours, Guyden finally made it back home. He was soon disheartened though, as all traces of his home had simply vanished, along with his parents. It was as though they had never even existed. Unsure how to proceed, he fell back to the teachings he had been raised on. From then forward, he promised himself that he would wander the lands in the hopes that, one day, they would be reunited once again. Guyden now treks all across the Isles of Axios, returning to Linandria in the Dominion of Malin occasionally to talk with old companions.

Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?) Guyden has a slight tendency of changing in behavior spontaneously, usually after allowing himself to meditate. If disturbed while trying to focus, he’ll usually flinch his head right or left a couple times before resuming what he was doing. He appreciates all life that inhabits the realm, eager to study everything from simple plants and animals, to the most technical of cultures and philosophies. Gleeful to go on any venture so long as new encounters await. The thought of a meaningless death very much repulses him, as do acts of unnecessary violence, lust, gluttony, and so on.

Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?) Guyden wonders what became of his Father and Mother over the last 59 Elven Weeks, looking for them or a means to find them along his journey. He hopes to observe all life the Isles of Axios have to offer, as well as other lands. Also wishing to help bring about a long standing cooperation between the races (if at all possible). One day, he also desires to return to the Isles of Vailor to search for his family. Although, this he knows would likely only cause him a meaningless death. For now, he waits, hoping to discover the key to finding his missing family.

Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?) Adaptable and tolerant, Guyden proves capable even under the most extreme circumstances. Being friendly and considerate as well, he does not let backgrounds get in the way of making allies, so long as their friendship is true. Whether they be Elves as well, Dwarves, Man, or even Orcs. Using his resourcefulness, he has attained much knowledge and experience about the world. From the properties of certain flora, to the uses of the hides and furs of specific fauna, to the practices of various established groups.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?) Prone to casting self-doubt and submitting to authority, Guyden often regrets his inability to stand up for his ideals. A frequent victim to his own self-induced, borderline paranoia. Guyden often struggles when he is put on the spot. Usually freezing up with any spontaneous subject change. He's also an exceedingly slow writer, this small trait causing him continuous frustration as he catalogs encounters along his travels. 

Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?) 5 feet, 4 inches tall. Tan skin, brown hair, green eyes, blue tattoo around left eye. Usually wearing a deep-sea blue robe.
