To the denizens of the Kingdom of Norland,

 

        On this day, the 19th of the First Seed, 1620… I, Artyom I Ruric, do announce my formal abdication from the throne of the Kingdom of Norland. The peoples of Norland deserve better than I. I find myself no longer having the energy or drive to progress the state of nation. Fortunately, with the return of my cousin Javier Ruric, the Norlandic peoples once again possess a natural, charismatic, and strong leader. His exploits have led the Norlanders and Ashguard to fame and glory in the past. And I have no doubt that he will be able to recreate these past successes. Thus, I pass down the Crown of Norland and all duties associated with the title to Javier Ruric. With full faith in his capabilities, I hereby name Javier Ruric King of Norland. Long may he reign.
