Out-Of-Character Information

What’s your Minecraft account name?:

MrFields

What timezone are you in?:

UTC+08:00

How old are you?:

14 years old

Are you aware the content and interactions on this server may not be appropriate for children under the age of 13? (You won’t be denied for being under 13): Absolutely, as with all things internet these days

Have you read and agreed to the rules?: Yes

What’s the rule you agree with the most?:

"Write constructively, and in good-spirit of our community. You may not get along, and you may not respect everyone, but you must behave civilly." -- I've encountered my fair share of narrow-minded people. I dislike them with a burning passion.

Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense? (if so we can help clear it up!):

No; they're written pretty clearly.

How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?:

I was looking for a role-play Minecraft server one afternoon. Medieval themed, sure, all that vanilla goodness. Scrolling through the Minecraft Forums, I saw a glimpse of the thread title inspired by Tolkien. I came looking for copper and I found gold.

Link(s) to past Whitelist Applications (If applicable): N/A

Have you logged into the server yet? (You cannot be whitelisted without logging in at least once):

Yes, I popped in to check the map.

Definitions

What is Roleplaying?

I define role play as an extension of reality. Its participants are connected to fictional characters, and through them they experience, sense, act, and exist in a world separate to reality, but in function, an extension of it.

What is Metagaming?:

Metagaming is the first sin of RP. Committing this heinous crime is tantamount to blasphemy. In all seriousness, metagaming is the in-character usage of knowledge that you gained out-of-character. A fitting analogy is stream sniping in an RTS.

What is Power-emoting (Powergaming)?:

Powergaming is the disregardful, demanding, sometimes unrealistic style (or lack thereof) of RP. A powergamer can jump over you and stab you in the back without dropping a sweat. Beware.

It is known that when powergamers pass on to the afterlife, they are guaranteed a spot in the City of Dis.

In-Character Information

Character’s name:

Guiscard Faucheux

Character’s sex:

Male

Character’s race:

Heartlander

Character’s age:

33

Biography

Guiscard Faucheux, the son of late Onfroi, who earned the nickname "Le Vieux Pieux", was a prosperous Lotharingian farmer. He owned a portion of land near Metz, which he inherited from his father. He toiled in the fields day and night -- he strove to live by his religious father's words: "Lend to the land -- it is the only debtor worth entertaining." It did not take long before he grew wealthy, surpassing his ancestors' wealth tenfold tilling the same soil his ancestors once did. He spent his fortune lavishly. Gluttonously. In avarice. Day by day, as his coin storages filled, his faith in the Canon faltered. In the peak of Guiscard's financial prosperity, when his riches seemed as secure and impenetrable as the city of Metz, a blight of immeasurable proportions hit his lands. Guiscard grew hateful. Mad, even. He cursed all those around him. He cursed himself. But, in all his detestation, he could not bring himself to curse the Gods. The Gods who had guided and blessed his pious father, but had punished him. The Gods who had observed his sinfulness, and had helped him realize. Guiscard, from rags to riches to rags once more, had renewed faith. And it was all he needed.

Personality Traits:

Guiscard is a religious man who has a disinclination to non-believers. Though reformed, he still falls into temptation easily, albeit guiltily. He has a refined voice that renders him charismatic to most, if not all.

Ambitions:

Guiscard, with his renewed faith, aspires to become a preacher of the Gods. He wishes to rebuild his wealth and give to the poor, convert the unbelieving.

Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?)

Guiscard learned how to sing and compose poems at the noon of his youth. He found company amongst the troubadours and songbirds of Metz. Those nights spent singing to the night are long gone. However, Guiscard does not let his talents (one of the last treasures he believes he kept after the blight) fall into dilapidation.

Weaknesses/Inabilities:

Guiscard is, by all means, healthy and fit -- afternoons, under the scorching sun, spent cutting weeds pay off. However, he does not know how to utilize his physical potential. He is as graceful as the ordinary peasant in dancing, and performs even more poorly in swordplay.

Appearance:

Guiscard inherited his light-brown hair from his father, and his blue-greenish eyes from his mother. He has a fair complexion, and a muscular (albeit deteriorating) build gained from his farming in the past.

Skin:
