‘Ello people o’ Markev. I’m Marius o’ House Baruch. My family ‘as done much for this great city an’ Kingdom, bu’ I feel tha’ our contributions can be increased. Consequently I wish to serve in His Royal Majesty's administration where I can use my past experiences to officially do good in the Kingdom as a whole. As my grandfather, Otto, once said, ‘a prosperous capital leads to a prosperous nation’. I intend to do good by all people in the city, both high an’ low born an’ create a decent sustainable environment for those existing an’ those that are yet to be born. 

 

In regards to the safety of our capital, I would work closely with the Royal Army to increase the amount of patrols and checkpoints around the city. Many people living outside the city walls have expressed concerns that their land and homes are not as well protected as those living within the walls and so I would personally see to it that those places are well patrolled. In addition to that, with my families position within the nobility of the realm and with our allies, we can use our own followers to bolster the numbers in the patrols carried out by our glorious Royal Army. 

 

As I previously said, a prosperous capital leads to a prosperous nation. My main aim is to tailor our economy into a self sustainable powerhouse that leaves no single person behind. My first course of action would be taking the large farms around the city into state control. By doing this, we can ensure that the wheat coming into our city is not at a competitive rate and so no one will be left without food. In addition to that, I intend to construct various state-owned bakeries and slaughterhouses around the city to ensure that the raw food sources that enter the city can then be manufactured into proper foods. With the opening of such factories will bring an increase in jobs, and therefore more money circulating in our economy which will allow for growth at a controlled rate. While economic booms seem good, they can end abruptly and should the state be unprepared then the city and its administration would be faced with huge consequence.
I know what many of you are thinking: That the state will take control of the farms and factories and reap the benefits of the seeds the workers sow. This is not the case! Once the farms and factories are running efficiently, the state will hold an auction where the state owned businesses will be sold to private investors. By following my suggestion, the administration can tailor and cultivate our economy into something that they will look back on in the future and try to replicate, as well as allow for a competitive market to be formed!
