~The Ivydale Family~

 

*Not a SEED. Don't get triggered Druids.

 

 

 

~History~

 

This relatively new family in the land of Atlas carries the heavy burden of being one of the most violent Wood Elven families in its short upbringing. The family didn't start appearing until Atlas, however it has roots further back than the Exodus. The family was started by Henry Ivydale, who wanted to make his own seed. However he lacked being a Druid, so he created his family in secret, away from the prying eyes of the Dominion Druids. Henry married Seabreeze Ivydale, when the powerhouse known as the Oren empire crushed throughout Atlas. Racism and tensions spread. Unable to fight, Henry and his wife fled to the last safe remaining bastion of hope. In the days of desperation, Henry took to the means of survival, cannibalism. Within a couple months afterwords, the revolt leader blew up the capital of Oren, killing a massive population. The thanuim bomb was so bad, the races fled from the land and landed on the shores of another.

 

At this time Henry was about 400, and he settled down with his wife in the Wood Elven capital. They had a daughter, Rose Ivydale. She grew up and moved out, now she was 100 years of age. She met Jospeh, with his charming looks and dashing personality. They had two children, Carsandra Ivydale and Limbvightilis Ivydale. When they where both young the Exudos happened when the monster awoke and destroyed the land. Again the whole family moved. Carsandra Ivydale and Limbvightilis Ivydale was left on the Dominion square, and Rose Ivydale vanished. Her now ex-husband was arrested and thrown in jail.

 

Limbvightilis Ivydale soon vanished. Carsandra stayed around the Dominion until she moved and got married to Rhillen in Fenn. For thirty-two years they were married, before divorce spilt them apart. Carsandra re-married a human named Richard Brauch, who lost his life to the Cannonism forces. Widowed once again, she re-moved to the Dominion and met Seabreeze and Limbvightilis. They moved into the High Elven district before moving again to the Dark Elven district. Carsandra left Seabreeze and Limbvightilis in the Dominion, and moved once again. This time she moved with her adopted father, Qauvinir Twiceborn. 

 

 

 

~Traditions~

 

These deep rooted traditions may seem to make the family cult-like in appearance. However these traditions date back to the beginning of the family line.

 

 

A dark black cloak signifies the family members importance. Old tradition carries that Ivydale family members would wear these during festivals, holidays, and so forth.

 

Birthing of a new child was special, but does not qualify for anything. While the birth of a child is widely celebrated due to Elven children being born is a rarity. 

 

Coming of age also does not qualify for anything aside a set of robes, custom made and fit for the person.

 

Marriage does not qualify for anything, aside a private or public ceremony. 

 

Divorce does not qualify for anything. Unlike other Elven families, divorce is very common within the family, either due to war or just simple disagreements. 

 

Death or funerals is very interesting. While it may seem barbaric, family members take the spine and the skull of the passed family member. They wash it, then stitch the spine on the back of the robes, and the skull on the shoulder. The spine is seen as symbolic, as the dead family member 'supporting' the one who gets it. The skull on the shoulder symbolizes the dead family member giving 'knowledge' to the one who get's the robe. Again it's purely symbolic and not ment to be barbaric. 

 

~Values~

 

The Ivydale family typically holds these values, but not all of the members do.

 

 

Good:

 

-Dedication: Ivydale family members possess a strong sense of dedication to their ideals, beliefs, and lifestyle.

 

-Tolerance: Tolerance for emotional, mental, or psychical pain.  

 

-Unity: The Ivydale family works as a unit. The 'you scratch my back I'll scratch yours'.

 

-Vision: Many family members have a vision, an ideal that they work toward. 

 

Bad:

 

-Aloof: Most family members find issues with commitment.

 

-Malice: The family often goes into criminal activity and thus deals with anger issues.  

 

-Lustful: Along with being aloof, many of the members have...er...issues with keeping their privates in their pants. 

 

-Rebellious: Most of the families ideals do not care for rules or regulations. Adopting the attitude "rules are meant to be broken". While respectful, many privately scorn government officials or law-makers. 

 

~Culture and Life~

 

With the family, most of the family delves in criminal and illegal like activity. It is not uncommon for a family member to be a bandit, mercenary, or sell-sword. The family prefers brute strength combat as compared to magic. 

 

Many of the family actually do not go into Druidry, simply because of their criminal life-style. It is very rare for a member of the Ivydale family to be a Dedicant. 

 

Even rarer is a family member going into magic, Voidal or Holy magic. 

 

None of the family members to date have gotten into Dark magic, excluding one.

~Adoption~

 

Adoption requires no special trials or getting any tattoo's. Currently if you seek adoption, one must be given permission by the current head, Carsandra Ivydale. Members may also be adopted if marrying into the family line.
