ISSUE #1

A FOREWORD

We all welcome you to the first issue of the Caras Eldar Post, a newspaper devoted to the values of Truth and Transparency. With the establishment of Written Word being both widely adopted and widely attacked, the personal security for this endeavor is nearly non-existent. In writing and publishing these works I will most definitely incur the most bestial and chaotic of assaults, both physically and verbally.

It is with this risk that I openly accept the task. I do not know who will read these or even if such texts will be welcomed, but I shall do my duty best I can. Thank you, and happy reading.

LEADERSHIP REBORN

It was on this past Elven Day that Belestram Sylvaeri stepped down from his position of the acting authority of Caras Eldar. Gathering his then members of the Courts, he held an equal vote between all members. This vote, however, was to elect a Prince Regent.

Upon accepting the votes of each member and the High Prince’s two votes, the final vote came down to four votes Azoth Hawksong, three votes - of which two were the High Prince - Kairn Ithelanen, one vote Loriens Silma, and one vote Abelas Caerme’onn. When the results were announced, Lockezi Voidyre’s vote was nullified due to his rejection of the official Lord title and Abelas Caerme’onn retracted his vote in favor of Kairn Ithelanen, who had begun to storm away from the area. After the meeting, Lady Awaiti Aureon also submitted her own vote, bringing the total to five votes in favor of Azoth Hawksong.

After a speech from the High Prince for his favor for the now Prince Regent, Kairn Ithelanen was chosen to lead the Communal Government in the absence of Belestram Sylvaeri. No crowning is to occur nor to be suggested. Upon the death or disappearance of Belestram Sylaveri, another vote will be hosted for the election of the next High Prince. The two likely candidates will be Abelas Caerme’onn and Loriens Silma.

THE PASSING OF POWER

Strangely enough, the day in which the Prince Regent vote occured was the same day the Treasury was meant to be handed over to the newcomer to public authority in Elvenesse: Calius Terin.

Calius is a former Prince and leader of the mali-folk. He currently owns the Tavern and has stepped down from Stewardship to accept the tasks of the Treasurer. Azoth Hawksong has left the role to pursue a life of service as a Representative to the Global Assembly as well as Law within the Caras Eldar as a public defender in the near future. Until then, however, Azoth will enjoy life with his loved ones and focus on himself.

JOKE OF THE WEEK

“What is the first thing you do when couping the Warhawke leadership?”

CHANGE THE LOCKES.

WRITER’S OPINION

THE HUMAN DISPOSITION

Growing up in the Kingdom of Salvus, I was no stranger to Human interactions. Kingston - the capital - was far from modest and a center of morality. Humans betrayed, killed, fucked, and salivated over the gross accumulation of coins for their own personal pockets. While curses remain upon each race, the Humans have always been those to have the most diverse set of insecurities.

They can be greedy like dwarves, brutish like Uruks, stubborn like mali, and daft like the Halfling folk; however, Humans also contain some of the most impressive and exceptional mortals in the land. We often do not see their accomplishments due to their race being sullied by lesser men, but we must grant favor when needed. One such man was Aron Bedevere.

Living his life as the Steward of Kingston, Aron Bedevere was not a loyal man. He had multiple affairs and often traded his own honor for the goals he sought. It was in this, though, that he used his own coin to bring change and kindness to the desperate streets. He sold bread and homes to the needy and often granted more attention to each person than any King paid to his own family.

We must not frown upon the other races and instead support and give them praise when earned. It is a simple task but one to mean more than the world.
