A Statement Of Impurity

As is becoming a chronic condition, the state of the Mali’Aheral is plagued by an infestation -- or the beginnings of one. The Mali’ata are like rats, who hide themselves in the smallest holes they can fit themselves into, who leech off the city like parasites, who seek to take credit from the Elves who sweat and bleed for their nation, who drink our wines and eat our winter storage, and who dirty the colors of our Elvish state. This is nothing new, nothing new to someone such as I who have seen all such things happen before, however, I wish not stand by and watch. So then, I write this statement.

I shall add, no state of the Mali’aheral has ever been completely without the impure, the sick and diluted. Never has our great spire of purity not drawn some Mali’ata to it, like moths to a flame. We are an oasis in the desert, they are pulled towards us because it is their nature to feed off of our people, and our work. I will also make note that Fi’Halen’s purity, and the new-age Mali’Aheral who have governed it, has acted as a sort of bulwark against the Mali’ata. I have seen sicker cities in my day. An infestation is not decided by size, however, it is decided by symptoms -- And the Silver City has them in dozens.

This is worsened by corruption, or possibly simple ineptitude, inside Haelun’or itself. From the guards, as brittle as they usually are, to the Sohaer, leader of our national government. Such problems could be fixed, or stunted, only if these two groups were better aligned to their duties, and better aligned to Haelun’or itself.

Now, as I have said, I have seen this all before. My family has always had eyes for this sort of event. Though, am I simply here to point and mock? No. I have come with solution, and not only hypothetical but proactive.

Firstly, I call upon Kiljarys to step down from his position as Sohaer, as he has shown to be either incompetent or unwilling to take this matter, nor take it seriously, giving flat and insincere promises to fix said situations. This is compounded by his shameful foreign diplomacy, and his rumored homosexuality.

Secondly, I call upon my people, my silver blooded citizens, to search your community for signs of impurity and degeneracy. It is truly up to each of us to ensure the prosperity of our nation. Keep your eyes out for dark mages, impure thoughts, or worse, impure actions. Your neighbor, your guardsman, or even your own Sohaer could be an impure hiding in plain sight, possibly planted there but wanting parties.

Thirdly, I call upon Maheral Dimaethor Visaj to re-educate (or simply educate at all) the Vihai, our new floppy guard force, on impurity hunting -- or to establish his own Mali’ata detectives to root out the swine from our Silver State. They must never again clutch power as the impure Laurir’ante did, and I fear with our current Sohaer the Mali’ata are worming their ways back to power yet again.

A letter was penned in response.

“To the incessant, aspiring naysayer who so bravely signed his obviously drunken, midnight musings,

I write to you not in anger. Your penmanship has brought me greater joy than the past three encounters we have shared in which you had wasted my time with your drivel. I write to you instead with hope that you will summarily lock your writing utensils away in some deep, nameless abyss so that you may never again make a fool of yourself through written words – your voice is damning enough. You speak of impurities and the impossibility that our society experiences in truly being rid of each and every one of them. There exists perhaps only a sliver of truth in your letter that may lend your ramblings the slightest portion of credibility. It lies in the aforementioned statement. The Silver State, in all of its previous incarnations, has never truly experienced freedom from the machinations of worthless, ill-begotten, selfish mongrels such as thyself. It is true, too, that parasites feed off of the body of our great nation – you most certainly fit the picture. Your rotten, mottled brain clearly lacks all substance save for the ability to conjure accusations born only of one’s most base, pathetic jealousies. Your unfounded criticisms of the accomplishments of an order founded naught but three elven days ago hints at a most worrying absence of any erudite acumen that might make you the least bit capable of intelligent thought.

You are no child, and so I will not forfeit to you the relief a child deserves. Your accusations of homosexuality against me prove only that you have spent a great deal of time watching me from afar as I interact with dignitaries and elheial’thilln. I needn’t elaborate further upon the implications of this fact. As you so diligently observed me in great detail from a distance where no other persons could accuse you of admiring me, I spoke with delegates of foreign nations, tending to the valuable ties our sovereign nation hold with world powers. To this end, I almost find myself wishing that you were capable of higher thought – you might have learned something while watching me from the confines of a bush, or, closet rather.

I will conclude with a brief comment towards the lineage you claim. Kalenz Uradir alone is to be given the respect a proper mali’aheral deserves. Let us not forget the Uradir who systematically starved his people and betrayed his state. You are but a worm whose surname is akin to a more luxurious pot with which he may hold his dirt.

I have told you once, and I will tell you again, Renarion Uradir.

You are in no position to parlay with me. When one plays with fire, they should expect to be burned.”

Cyrien Solaira’s ashen gaze scanned over the initial statement with brows furrowed in distaste, disagreeing with several of the authors points even only after a few elven months back in the Silver State. Upon receiving a copy of the Sohaer’s response, she sits and reads along with her dear cousin Esme, chattering for hours over it as she prepares herself for another visit with Kiljarys himself.

“Wait a good moment...” Renarion says, reading over the Sohaer’s response, caught on a single sentence.

'Your accusations of homosexuality against me prove only that you have spent a great deal of time watching me from afar'

”Did he just admit to being a homosexual publicly?”

Esme Dior peers over the Uradir’s writ with amusement, not due to his words, but his blatant ignorance. With a terse glance in Cyrien’s direction, the young ‘Princess’ slips into a bout of prolonged laughter. After a moment of awkward silence ensues between herself and her cousin, the Acal’elor spares a moment to acknowledge the optimal reply Sohaer Kiljarys has provided.

A high elven artist of great taste and capacity for satire sat before the posted letters. He sketched away at a caricature of the accuser, leaving his unfinished work by the documents themselves.

Renarion would gasp at such a crude and insulting piece of artwork. And, as a good ‘Aheral, would immediately respond be drawing his own art, and sending it to all the mailboxes of Haelun’or

A mage talented in the illusionary arts cast a spell recalling the events of the day, showing all gathered mali’aheral a depiction of the average Renarion Uradir supporter during the Sohaer’s stroll through Haelun’or.
