Sons and daughters of Horen, there is a sickness upon the minds of man. A sickness far deadlier than any curse, corporeal disease, or other poison upon the body... I speak of ignorance; a plague upon thought, and progress!

In times of yore, scholars speak of a populace that was informed. During the Dwarf Wars and the conquest of Krugmar upon Axios, was it dwed and uruk alone that knew why they took up arms? Nay! It was all men with valor and belief in their hearts, men educated by clergy and imperium alike about the threats to the realm. During the construction of Johannesberg, the finest jewel to ever grace Horen’s crown, did the stonemasons and builders simply awaken one day with tools in their hands and get to work? Nay! It was men with ingenuity and craftsmanship, men of trained skill that constructed the first capital of man.

Now, my brothers and sisters, I see the city of Helena in this fertile new land that echoes the potential for such greatness; the potential for Mankind to reclaim its place at the forefront of all races, but I am fearful of its sickness. I am fearful of stagnation. I am fearful… Of ignorance.

Since its resurfacing in the age of Savoyards upon Vailor, the library of Dragur has served as a crutch to humanity’s curation - and progression - of knowledge. Its bloated halls have, in recent ages, polluted the minds of men with cursed grimoires of the black arcane, mindlessly vast archives of pagan poetry and uninspiring ‘alternative histories’ written by the lesser races. Now Dragur has been claimed by the heretics in the cult of the Triumvirate; the Cloud Temple. Any good canonist would know to keep from these halls should they keep their mind pure… But despite all its flaws, Dragur has had its uses in giving the populace a basic education of the realm and its happenings. What we need, however, is not Dragur. What we need is a library of our own.

Thus begins the construction and collection of the first Imperial Library of Helana. It is our duty to oversee the re-education of our pupulace in accordance by reclaiming the true history of Man to all moved by their heritage, by spreading the true word of the Canon to all loyal to God, by conditioning future and present subhumans and immigrants and to the true cultural standards of the Imperium of Man and curating all feats, inventions and discoveries of the Imperium for future generations to enjoy.

What we require is expansion. Around the city there are several donation bins akin to the one drawn above, which will be emptied every saint’s day to then be sorted and shelved appropriately. It is the duty of every man and woman that cares not only for the progression of their children or grandchildren, but their race to give what books they can. Should you find the donation bins full, you may then visit the library yourself and speak with any librarian presently on duty.

The library is situated in the Imperial Capital of Man, 7 Horen Street (North-West of the city gate).

All are welcome to enter should they adhere to the following:

-No mongrel breeds in the library.
-This includes kharajyr, hou-zi and fae creatures as well as half breeds of men: half  elves, half orcs, half dwarves and halflings (though the lesser races and the halfbreeds between them are permitted).

-No magic in the library under any circumstance.
-This includes the presence of magical creatures such as Golems or Atronachs or magical objects such as floating staves or crystalline lexicons.

-No destructive alchemy in the library under any circumstance.

-No weapons to be drawn in the library unless permitted by an active librarian.

-No copying of shelved books unless permitted by an active librarian.

-No non-canonist prayer in the library under any circumstance.

-No shouting in the library.

-No fighting in the library.
-A temple of knowledge, the library ought to be treated only a notch below the Church: as a neutral ground.

-No gambling in the library.

-No open flames in the library.

-No open liquids in the library.

The librarian retains the right to forcefully remove individuals in violation of the above as well as the right to demand fines and challenge for unpaid penalties in a court of law.

Signed,
Ghislain Vile,
Imperial Librarian

*Darcassan. . . ?

We aren’t affiliated with the Monks outside of them being permitted to use our space for their work? And to think. . . he has the audacity to ask us for books.

Head Librarian of the Sutican Library Utaria Helenson-Anarion reads through the document with a smile plastered on her face, whirling around in her chair she would set about penning a letter to the Library of Helena. It would read the following:

To Imperial Librarian, Ghislain Vile,

I am the Head Librarian of the Library of Sutica and I am writing to congratulate you on your joining in this mutual quest for the preservation of knowledge. Ever since I was a young girl living in the Duchy of Adria in Belvitz, I enjoyed the close proximity to the Library of Dragur. However, when I grew up and moved to the Sennestein, I found the lack of library trouble for the growth of knowledge. Seeing the creation of the Imperial Library leaves me with a warm feeling for my Homeland.

The Sutican Library shall be sending copies of our finest books on Human History and on the Cannonist faith, as soon as we collect the materials for copying books, to your collection bin. Our Libraries core mission is the Conservation and Proliferation of knowledge, and with a simple read, it seems yours is the same. If you wish to h
ave more copies of books please see our Library audit sheet, which I have attached to the back of this letter. Please be patient with any requests as we are currently undergoing massive restructuring after the exodus. I look forward to any future correspondence.

Sincerely,

Head Librarian Utaria Helenson-Anarion, Royal Consort, Guard Captain, and Steward of the Trade Federation of Sutica.
