[!] A declaration has been tacked to different message boards throughout Sutica and on the Memo Tree. The Handwriting is decisively neat if not a bit excessive

Sutican Library Audit of 1709

State of the Library

The Sutican Library, since my last report, has continued to see great strides in the expansion of our collection. However, since the last report, the Library has also seen a number of difficulties since the last report.

One of the difficulties was the moving of our collection to Arcas. Upon the Federation of Sutica making a deal with to leave Atlas, we hastily packed up our books. Only packing the best conditioned books of the collection, and then moving quickly towards Last Hope and Serrimor. Carrying many books with sled to the make-shift Sutican camp and then further to Deep Harbour later.

In Arcas, we established a much larger facility to house our collection. The new facility includes a printing center which will speed up the process of copying books, and we now have the Helenson-Anarion Collection, which houses several books which will need librarian permission to view. Upstairs includes the Silv’ar reading room named after the First Trade Monarch and the Observation Deck where you can view most of the Old Town District. Some of the collections have been split or further defined. Alchemy, Relationship Advice, and Historical Documents have been made into their own sections. A Childrens’ section now exists. Technical Information has been split into Technical Knowledge and Artisan Knowledge, and Social Studies has been split into History, General Social Studies, and Anthropology.

After creating the new facility we began to copy our collection to secure its safety in the future. This process took a long time as we collected a large amount of ink. Special mentions to Mika, Nesrine, Eris, and Allona for aiding in this process. When ink became more scarce in the very immediate future I went on a journey to every city and purchased as much ink and ink and quill book sets as I could. This allowed us to finish the copying of the collection and to begin our audit. I decided it would be fitting as the last time I finished copying a collection I began an audit.

I have also hired a number of people to work as Librarians. Allona and Eris are paid librarians and Nesrine is a Voluntary Librarian. I hope that they may aid in the collecting and writing of books. We are not looking into hiring more people at this moment, but we are willing to still have Volunteers.

As for information on our collection, we have 346 books across 194 authors (With the highest number of written books [Note this is unique entries will hurt this number] being Luna Lyes with 24)  in 107 categories. 188 are available for immediate copy, 94 require head librarian approval, and 64 being not copyable. As of our last Audit we had 208 books and we have added 138 to that total.

As for the future, the Sutican Library is always continuing to try and grow our collection. We have reached out to various other libraries and are preparing to trade various books for new books we may be missing. We are also planning to launch book competitions when we have more books and quills every Saints Week with different topics each time. We are also looking towards either allowing others to have various sessions inside the library on a variety of topics. We hope that through the expansion of our collection and through different lectures and programs that we can truly hold to the vision I set forth for the Library to “Conserve and Proliferate Knowledge in Sutica.”

[!] Underneath the above sheet there would be another sheet with the following information on it.

To Request a Book

Refer to the Inventory to see if a book is available for copying. Blue means it is easily available, Orange means the Head Librarian must copy it, and Red is completely unavailable for copying. Drop a book in the Donation bin outside of the Library labeled “Book Request.” Inside put your name, address/contact info, and the books you would like. If the request is especially large, it might be better to talk to a librarian in person.

Final Words

As with my last Audit, I thank you again for taking the time to read this. It has been a pleasure being your Head Librarian through these years and I hope that I can continue to help guide people to the discovery of whatever they wish to find. I sincerely hope you enjoy your time at the Sutican Library.

SUTICA ETERNAL,

Head Librarian Utaria Grandaxe Helenson-Anarion Royal Consort, Captain of the Watch, and Steward of the Federation of Sutica, The Unwavering.
