Imperium 3495 Share Posted May 11, 2019 FROM THE THRONE: A RESPONSE TO ROMULUS AND TO ALL RENATIAN PRETENDERS 15th of Tobias’ Bounty, 1715 Va Birodeo Herzenav e Edlervik, I write out of candor and sincerity to the words penned by Romulus of the Pertinaxi Pretenders, for his words are written out of dishonest zeal. As king, my obligation is to my subjects with whom I am bound for their security, stability, and service. Long has it been overdue that the reign for the Aurelian Regime to recognize the burdens it has brought unto the people of humanity. “To the people of Haense, where was the bravado when you allowed Adria to be burned? Where was the love for Adria as it burned?” Romulus of Renatus audaciously questions my honor and my loyalty to humanity. For it was not I who sought to burn down the homes and graneries of Adria. Nay, it was your Emperor Antonius who ordered the destruction of their lands and livelihoods. Before you ask me for my bravado and goodness, ask your own kin where his judgment and leadership lies? How can I be criticized for an action brought to my feet by the man who I was sworn to obey? The tyranny and burning of Adria begins with the top. Take accountability for your family’s decisions! My entire being goes to the people of Adria. As their Duke, I know my obligation to my people and to that I regret that I did not do more to protect them from the unjust dominion of the Pertinaxi. It is I who is to be bound by GOD’s judgment for this passiveness and with that I extend my hand of cooperation, my tears of grief, and my anger against those who sought to burden my people with the fires of attrition. “Haense has been one of the most loyal vassals to the Imperium. Your predecessor Sigmar bent the knee to my great-grandfather, and you decide to not uphold your family’s oath to mine, no you side with the false pretenders.” I cannot be an oathbreaker when the Empire that you have accused me of betraying is no more. Was it not your Emperor Antonius, who declared himself the last Emperor of this line, who released us vassals of our oath and allegiance? I now must make the decisive choice that a king must make, one that you and your princelings no nothing about. My late grandfather, King Sigmar Lothar, was a man with great judgment. In the interests of protecting Haense and the unification of Man, he bent the knee with the hope of securing a lasting integrity and dignity from the lieges who would govern this newly proclaimed Imperial dynasty. I follow in this model of leadership, recognizing this same vision that he once did. However, I must forge a new path for the Highlanders. That is why Joseph I of Marna is my liege to whom I swear my unconditional allegiance and cooperation. My predecessors have suffered enough of your family’s unjust dominion. My judgment serves me right and I know that even GOD Himself who sits justly in the Seven Skies knows this to be true. I am a man not of meekness as you suggest. I am a man of resolve. I am Marius II.

GhostSHTR 1205 Share Posted May 11, 2019 “I Remember being in that court when Sigmar Lothar bent the knee to Aurelius I’ve served ever since then. I have seen this empire deteriorate into chaos, Only a TRUE Horen can bring peace to the realm of man and that is not Pertinaxi Pretenders but the house of Horen-Marna.
