Broken Bottle

Bottle strode through the city of Helena, sliding past citizens going about there day as he searched about

for someone, anyone who may be able to tell him of the horrid crime that had been

committed just the previous day.  Bottle had come seeking justice for two men he had

called friends, Princes Godfric and Georg, two men who had been most welcoming to him when

he had made his return to Haense many years ago. Godfric saving his life on one occasion, Georg

going to various lengths to ensure Bottle had work so he could provide for his budding family.

 

Though they had grown apart over time, after Bottle had moved. He stilled considered them good friends, and better men

even if he had often given Georg a hard time. Those two good honorable men having been stolen from Reza

by rabid Renatian aggressors and summarily executed as no word had been heard from them.

 

As he sifted his way through the city he spotted  a most honor-less knight, a certain Ser Uthred Gromach.

Incompetent, Torturer, a brainless thug such were the opinions Bottle held for this contemptuous  cretin.

Calming his mind, he made his way over to the so-called-knight, asking him simply who took his friends.

Uthred, cowardly and or truly ignorant, refused to divulge any information on who had done it.

 

 

Instead Uthred opted to beat and batter the man senseless, not before receiving a fresh scratch on the armor guarding his ankles 

accompanied by a wad of spit to his ginger face. As commanded by Romulus Horen, who had watched the debacle, Bottle 

was dragged to the throneroom of the palace.

 

It was there they woke Bottle to receive  the Renatian brand of justice, Romulus, another man he had considered

a friend, having watched the boy grow into the man he was, gifting the Horens name to one of his one sons, 

was the one to decide the punishment was to be death.

Death for seeking justice for his murdered companions, still too disoriented from his beating previously

he could do not but look at Romulus with dazed eyes as he was swiftly beheaded before the dias.

Failing in his mission, former soldier, former knight, once husband to a cheating strumpet, father of three

Bottle Wick died.

”I’ve missed you ever since I consoled you while you were whipped for insolence. I’ve missed your uncouth presence and rough justice.”

Godfric welcomes Bottle to the Seven Skies alongside Georgie, fending off Boris so the Wick wouldn’t be bullied for eternity.

“Bottle Wick died for us so that others might find courage to stand in the face of great adversity.” the youngest Alimar brother observes from the Skies.

Stefan Morovic learns of the death from a spare soldier aboard the deck of a ship. Halting in his preparations and letting a few of the other seamen continue on with rigging the mainsail for a long voyage.  

 

”So that nation of murdering psychopaths finally butchered a man who deserved it in full. A proper traitor, and a deserter at that. Good bloody riddance.” he says, with a shake his head and a small chuckle to indicate his brief fit of humor, thereafter returning to his labour.

Anabel frowns heavily upon hearing of Bottle’s execution. She took to her chambers, once again pondering the nature of how warfare can change one’s character.

Kazimar would frown deeply upon hearing the news. Never on the best of terms with the interesting character that was Bottle, he'd dip his head low regardless and murmur some short words for the slain man.
