Under the provisions of the Royal Scholarship Act of 1710, the Royal Duma has recommended four entries to the Office of the Lord Palatine for royal scholarship endowments.

After much consideration, Lerald Vyronov, the Lord Palatine of the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska, has reviewed the submissions and come to a decision as to which submissions the Government shall bequeath awards.

His Grace has also decided to issue a statement praising each entry:

This incredible piece of art was donated to His Majesty’s Royal Duma. It is a masterly made clock with carvings that refer to the history of Haense and its noble houses. The extraordinary eye for detail and time spent on this masterpiece earns it the first award under the Royal Scholarship Act of 1710. We hope to see much more from this talented craftsman in the years to come!”

The Confessions of Father Humbert

By the Judite Monks

Father Humbert tells us in this well-written piece how he went from a life of sin to having found our merciful God. His ability to criticise himself and his history is superb. Even the most pious under us would benefit from reading this magnificent work and that earns it the second award under the Royal Scholarship Act of 1710.”

The immensely popular poems of Mister van Jungingen fills any patriotic Haenseman with pride. With an amazing feeling for words he manages to capture the Haeseni spirit. The poems are often recited in taverns across Haense. Rightfully so I might add! This incredible show of patriotism earns it the third award under the Royal Scholarship Act of 1710.”

“Vengence”

By Finn Hope

Mister Hope shows great potential with his submission. Unfortunately I am unable to award him due to the amazing submissions by the competition. I do, however, want to give him an honorable mention and encourage him to continue writing.”

Father Humbert, O.S.J., replies:

‘All honour and glory be to God. We are gratified by your award. However, due to our Vow of Poverty we are in no position to accept this reward. Instead, please grant this money to a good cause in Reza.

Your Humble Slave in God,

Father Humbert, O.S.J.’

Reading of this, Charles Napier would tap out his cigar in his study room.

“Absolutely magnificent work, it’s a delight to see intellectual craftsmanship achieved in the Human realms..”
