IN THE SPIRIT OF REVELRY AMONGST THE COLD– a masquerade shall be held in the coming saint days in celebration of Nikirala, or as known in the common tongue as the season of winter. The dance of masks requires all who attend to wear such, as well as a dress code of formal clothing with colors that are paled, or blue, white, and grey. Furs are exempt from the dress code, and can be worn with any color so long as it matches one’s outfit. Pelts and furs are advised and encouraged to be worn. All are invited and welcomed to come to celebrate and dance. The masquerade shall be as follows–

 

Roast of the Boar

A pyre in the midst of the Ekaterinburg Palace courtyard will be the area of commencement for the masquerade. Boars from local Haeseni hunters are to roast about the fire, with other assortments of appetizers of Haeseni cuisine being offered and kept warm at varying tables as the introductory speech before the dance begins is given. As the pyre continues to burn and the speech concludes, all are asked to come inside.

 

Dance of Nikirala & Best-Dressed Competition 

All in attendance must abide by the dress code mentioned earlier – which consists of pale colors and the donning of a mask. As all enter the great hall, music will immediately commence and the dances shall begin.

 

Those who wish to enter in the dress competition must inform the Queen Maya Barbanov or the Grand Lady, Aleksandra Alimar, during the beginning of the dance. It is asked that those participating not dress extravagantly – and instead aim more for beauty or handsomeness in their outfits. The winners shall be deemed the Lord and Lady of the Nikirala, and gifted a special prize as well as a blue sash finely crafted for the occasion. The competitors will be judged by the King and Queen.
