Writ and confirmed by Henrietta, Duchess of Furnestock

To my fellow humankind,

I write not as an Orenian, nor as a stateswoman or government official. I write not as a Johannian and most certainly not with intentions to condescend. I write with comradery  in every sense of the word. War is fleeting; it has lasted for over a decade now with little progress, Conflict is now lacking at present (if you were to exclude the habitual emergence of brigands loitering by roads). Even if you were to consider past violence, forged by long-festering resentment and the ilk, it seemingly has only one reasonable cause: ignorance.

Ignorance is the bane of humanity; the devilish menace that is so freely spoken of by my contemporaries, first publicized as the force driving this most deplorable war. To most, hatred is an amalgamation of all their grievances against an opposing party. I see it as a lack of understanding. If you were to circumspect the disposition of Saints, they share mutual compassion. Their hearts and minds are remiss of hatred for they are enlightened. Regardless of your religion, and origin, I’m certain anyone can find this sect of the Canonist faith most agreeable. Consequently, alongside their reverence, their scholarly endeavors set them aside from their peers. To reach such a dignified state of mind, one must be willing to surrender their mortal toils and self-fulfilling tendencies to the wind and instead focus on themselves. To achieve strength of mind, and to some extent body, one must permit themselves to submit to their aspirations. Once one is capable of doing this, frivolities such as war will cease to matter, and excellence will ensue. I do not preach as though I’ve transcended mundanity and the yearning for novel commodities for I am, admittedly, human. Yet, I do believe to escape the constant cycle of needless desire, jealousy, and greed, one must look within themselves to find the resolve to rupture the shell they’ve been up-brought with; to enrich themselves.

Academia and improvement go hand-in-hand.
