Drudollus’ Frenzy

“Anger… rage, what if there was a way to inflict rage onto someone - sending them into a mindless frenzy where they can be unstoppable…”

“The idea first came into my head after looking through notes of my old scholar who has since passed away. He had some crazy theories about a potion that can evoke a temporary bloodlust in someone, causing them to attack all nearby - whether its friend or foe. He had a recipe, which I tried though it was not successful, so after about a week of experimenting I finally found a way to make it work.”

“Though there are a few slight errors in the potion. After drinking it, you go through a frenzy and gain enhanced endurance to pain. Although as soon as it wears off, all the pain comes at once which usually knocks people out.”

-Notes of Ivar Drudollus

_____________

Overview

The Drudollis’ Frenzy potion sends a creature or person into a mindless blood rage when consumed. It’s a rather complex concoction and requires practice and learning from a superior. Drudollus’ Frenzy can be made at T2 of alchemy.

_________

Effects

Once consumed, either by drinking or injection - the consumer will be sent on a mindless rampage. They will attack friend or foe, and most pain will be numbed for the duration of the potion. The potion takes about 5 minutes to to effect after consuming it, the user has a chance to distance themselves from everyone or lock themselves up if need be. Once the effects kick in, there is no going back - they will begin the frenzy, attacking everything nearby and almost returning to a primal state. Most often, if the user is untrained or has poor muscle memory, they will seemingly forget about the use of weapons and will simply use their fists and parts of their body to attack. The frenzy lasts roughly 10 minutes - once the frenzy ends, the consumer will feel immense sudden pain and usually either gets knocked out or succumbs and is rendered useless for many minutes until they recover.

Effect Mechanics

Spoiler

Upon consuming, it takes 5 minutes (5 emotes) for the effects to kick in. After consuming, the consumer is forced to attack everything in sight, even if they are friendly and they will have absolutely no control over themselves. They have numbed pain during the frenzy, though they can still be hurt and stunned by pain inflicted. After the frenzy, all the pain they would have felt comes back to them and they usually get knocked out depending on the amount of pain they would have gone through and how overwhelming it is. The frenzy lasts for 10 minutes (10 emotes). Also, animals and other creatures can be frenzied.

- A frenzied being still feels pain, though it is greatly numbed and they have a greater tolerance to it.

- You must emote being affected by the potion if you consume it, there is no stopping it and you have to attack everyone around you.

- Most times a frenzied person does not use a weapon, as they pretty much revert to a primal state.

- The frenzy takes 5 emotes to happen after consuming and it lasts for 10 emotes.

- A frenzied being does not become any stronger.

- The potion does absolutely not last any longer or shorter than 10 emotes.

_______________

Preparation

The preparation for Drudollus’ Frenzy is quite the task, and takes a decent amount of time. One must learn from a teacher and it takes lots of practice to perfect it efficiently.

Ingredients

Spoiler

Distilled Water

Endurance x2

Vigour x1

Rage x1

100ml of Orc Blood

Process

Spoiler

Heat the distilled water until it is boiling, add the destruction and control representations and begin to mix. The solution should be brown-red at this point.

Add the remaining symbols one by one while slowly mixing, make sure to use a clean tool to avoid contamination. The solution should now be a darker red colour.

Pour the orc blood in, making sure it's uncontaminated and mix until everything marries and the solution has a very low viscosity.

Contain the solution and let it sit for 30 OOC minutes, once this is finished - the solution should be very smooth and a deep, dark red. It is now ready for injection or ingestion.

Creation Mechanics

Spoiler

Each step would take 2-3 emotes except for the last one, which you have to wait for 30 OOC minutes. It is impossible to make something like this during combat because of the amount of time it takes.

Distribution Mechanics

Spoiler

If made correctly, the solution will always be dark red in colour. The potion does go bad and can only be kept for 3 IRL weeks after creation. To apply the effects, one must either inject it or drink it. Drudollus’ Frenzy only lasts 10 minutes (10 emotes) and takes 5 minutes (5 emotes) to commence after injecting or drinking.

OOC Explanation

I thought this was a really cool concept and decided to make it. Also, I just want more potions and stuff you can actually do with alchemy!
