A Crown carried by a shell.

In response to the Grand Pretender Akkar.

“To Akkar,

It is with my utmost regret to inform you of the falsities in your documents. It seems the scribes within the halls of the Citadel were remiss in their duty. As to my twin, it was her own choice to continue to hold our haelun’s name of Annungilben even after the discovery of our true lineage. It rather amuses me you would make mention of your maln, Aelthos Tundrak III. A man I myself helped raise whilst your mar’maln Aelthir was busy leading our kin. I believe by now you should have received a letter from that very ‘fenn.

Spoiler

Keeping such in mind, I am fully aware of the values my family has upheld as the rightful leaders of the mali’fenn. And I can say without fail that you have tarnished our name. You make more claims of words from ghosts, Akkar. As the former Grand Marshal I know all too well these documents you cite are kept under strict supervision, unless that has changed under your rule. Who’s to say your words are even the truth? I myself have bolstered the support of people who I led in the past. Along with many who have served as council to your predecessors, for they know the truth you attempt to hide.

While I do not know you personally, I know from your words the type of person you are. But I do agree, the mali’fenn know of my character. The former Fennic citizens who left to escape the tyranny of Aldred the unworthy are still people I would lay my life down for. It is clear now in your refusal to an honor duel under the sight of Wyrvun that you yourself would never do the same. You have brought this upon yourself by making proclamations with ill intent. How dare you attempt to strip me of a name that I have fought and bled for. Whereas you have done little to nothing for our kin. You are a shell, a pedestal of which the crown worn by my dearest friend Aelthir Tundrak the second of his name sits upon. You are, in its simplest form, a pretender, Akkar. It pains me that I write these words to someone who holds my family’s name. It pains me to see that the future of the Tundraks has become so dim. You are not the first boy Prince to soil and disgrace us. But I will say with assurance you will be the last.

Until we may meet, Akkar.”

Signed, Aesilnoth Tundrak.

Arevthor Tathvir is quite surprised by the constant letter to and from the two Mali’Fenn.  As he reads through the newest letter he slowly nods along with the words.  “Quite interesting llir.” Arev mumbles to himself, crumpling up the letter and tossing it into a fire before continuing on with his day, a light smile on his face.

Lydienne, the last of Aethir the Second’s issue, reads upon the missive with a smile at Aesilnoth’s flank. “We can only hope for a better time – one in which the righteous among us are restored, and the reviled pretenders are removed from their faulted, barren thrones. Until then, Elvenesse will – and should – remain beneath one: Prince Feonor, who claims his seat as the bastion of Aegrothond.”

Aerilith Oakenarrow looks at the open letter with surprise, reading every word with more and more interest in  the situation, he’d write a note to his ancient brother in arms soon after finishing the reading. “You continue to be the wisest of the pack llir, this is why you are one of few Mali’Fenn to be able to call themselves worthy for a Sentinel trial. you bring me in awe and inspire me, thank you for being my brother.”

Tenvar Aelthos II Atmorice-Tundrak, son of Varan Atmorice and Aleratha Tundrak, would read the missive as he looked for a place to store the armor of Siol Atmorice as it was too small for him to wear until it’s reforged. Tenvar would comment to Aesilnoth in Aegrothond stating “I pray to Wyrvun that my cousin Akkar sees reason, it is unwise to splinter our already fragile people anymore. The future of the ‘fenn relies on it, even if I don’t serve them as Grand Steward, I still wish for a future where we may prosper. Wyvrun guide us.” Afterwards he would make his way to find a talented smith in Aegrothond, one who could reshape his cherished heirloom.

Taal, former warrior of the Ivea’fenn glances over the letters between the two Mali’fenn that had somehow came into his possession. A grimace touches his lips as he finishes reading the final letter. The ‘ame raises his head from the paper, glancing out the window of his home and fixing a gull flying over the ocean waves in his gaze. ”How the young forget the sacrifices of those before them, their burdens and achievements. Aesilnoth had his faults but i believe they were born from the the path he carved with his sword to help make the Mali’fenn what they were in their success not long past. The Mali’fenn should have rather than denounce one named Tundrak by Aelthos, sought him out and mended the past, for I hope to see Tahu’lareh prosper once more.” The ‘ame losses sight of the gull as it passes from his view, his grimace slipping to be replaced with a small tugging at the corners of his lips. He rises, taking the letters with him and casts them into the fireplace before leaving his home, leaving the letters and thought of the dispute in the flames.
