A Formal Resignation;

A Short History of A Physician

       I, Dele Seregon, hereby step down as the Head Physician of Haelun’or. Whether or not I will be stepping down as Secondary Guild Mistress of the Curantes Guild of Medicine is undecided. This will be my only commentary upon this decision. For the better of my own wellbeing, the clinic and all its affairs fall onto Nelgauth Maehr’tehral.

        I thank the Silver State for allowing me to serve well over twenty years as your head physician and the building of the clinic, but it is time for me to step down. I look forward to what changes Nelgauth will bring and I know he will serve you all proudly as I have from the start.

          When I first came to Haelun’or, the Silver Clinic was small, dreadfully so. It was an open air building, kept to what is now the lobby of the building, with two beds, no operating room, and let alone even a place to keep your bag when you’re in the building. After a rather awful injury of my own, myself and the only physicians about at the time, Pelilasdir Vontia’athem, and Alrin Sul’sumana, set to work reforming it. That much we did, and that build of the clinic served us through almost all of the Voidal War. The time came for us to close, just for a few days, as Rhaelanthur and Nelgauth rebuilt the clinic to be better, to be larger, to be better. This is the clinic most of you now know, and have been treated in.

        It served us through the end of the Voidal War, no longer were we swimming in blood at this time so it was an easier time. Now, it will serve until next we must move on from a continent and flee somewhere else. I trust you all will have faith in him, regardless of what the past has shown. He is a good ‘thill and an even better Physician.

      I have seen much in our cihi, and much outside of it. I have watched monsters tear asunder mortal men, and watched mortal men tear each other apart. I have watched life come into the world, and I have felt it leave it as I tried to keep it from doing so. I have seen the glimmer in the eyes of young apprentices, seeking out the skills we teach, and I have seen the fading light in older physicians, worn by what they have seen. I will be around, I suppose, anyways.

Thank you for having me.

Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya

Signed,

Laurir Dele Seregon

Kinahen stared the letter blankly, gloved fingertips lightly squeezing its edges. He took a shaky sigh, exhaling in a gentle huff. “...I wish she had told me...” He muttered softly, letting his eyelid fall shut.

Anethra would begin drafting a letter at home to deliver in thanks to her close friend, in thanks for her work, services, and efforts.

Seth took a deep breath and sighed as he saw it, it was expected, he thought it would had come earlier. But now was the time.
