I.History and formation

La coerenza di Vitenna was formed after a bandit attack on his highness Prince Solomon Napoliza, duke of Fonsi, count of Pestilles on the 23th of Sun’s Smile, 1762. As he rode into the city on his white stallion,  In a horrendous act of attempted assassination, he was stabbed with a knife, leaving him bleeding and dying out. During this spiteful event, the city was also under attack by an assassins guild tasked to murder one of the lady in waitings of her serene highness, Princess Luciana Maria Napoliza.

The Principality did not yet have an established military, but due to the help of all citizens in catching the assassins, and giving medical aid to the prince and all of those that were wounded, there were no casualties, and the main culprits where caught and punished accordingly. It was the quick thinking, team work and feeling of responsibility  that these citizens had,  that ensured the safety and security of Vitenna.

 

This resulted into the formation of:

“La Coeranza di Vitenna” 

 

The name means the cohesion of Vitenna, named after the the cohesion of the citizens that occured on the 23th of Sun's smile, 1762

II.Information

The la coeranza di Vitenna is the official army of the free principality of Vitenna and is led by the Colonel whom is elected by the free citizens of Vitenna to control over their military from a pool of captains. The colonel is elected for life, and must adhere to the wishes of the crown and the dual state of Vitenna. La coeranza di Vitenna is in charge of the protection of Vitenna and its citizens aswell as their borders. Furthermore la coeranza di Vitenna also is responsible for maintaining the stability and peace within its cities, and to enforce the laws.

III.Ideals

Freedom: To share and accept the freedom of all life in Vitenna. 

Teamwork: To aid one another in the best of your capability, may it be a peasant or king.

Responsibility: To feel responsible for your surroundings and your words and actions.

IV.Hierachy

All members of the la coeranza start out as a Soldato or Allievo and after proving themselves worthy they are either promoted to sergeant, running a small group of Soldato's on their own, or to a Sentinella. After that they might become a captain, taking on a branch of their own. Once the Colonel passes, one of these captains is elected by the citizens to become the Colonel.

V.Ranks 

 

V.I Allievo ( Pupil )

The Allievo are those that are of younger age and that wish to learn in the coeranza. Anyone of the age of twelve may become a Allievo,

and they are learned how to fight, write and how to prepare themselves for there future. They shall patrol the streets alongside Soldato's aswell as have special learning sessions in the academy. When children of noble blood are tested to select a heir, this is also the rank they shall be gifted and tested under, to see their future capabilities.

V.II Soldato ( Soldier )

The Soldato serves as the general guard of the city and has taken the oath where in he solemnly swears to serve and aid all citizens, regardless of their race, religion and gender.

Furthermore he holds a responsibility to maintain the safety of all citizens and visitors within the borders of the Principality,

but also outside of our borders. They are also tasked with enforcing the laws on a daily basis, and patrolling the city of Fonsi and who enters and leaves.

V.III Sergente ( Sergeant )

The Sergente serves as a supervisor for a small group of Soldato’s, whom he trains and leads. He has proven to be true to his oath and has shown his range of skills on the battlefield, but also within the walls of Fonsi and their respected vassals.

V.IV Sentinella ( Sentinel )

The Sentinella are those that have proven to be true to their oath, and have shown a range of skills on the battlefield, but also within the walls of Fonsi and their respected vassals. They are tasked with the protection of high target profiles such as the princely family, but also clergy and high government officials. The sentinels are lead by a captain,. and some are assigned to special branches. Some of the Sentinella's are even part of the royal entourage  making them a Sentinella Reale ( Royal Sentinel ) these are the guards that are assigned to protect and travel with the the sovereign aswell as to perform special tasks for the sovereign, and therefore also falling under the lead of the sovereign.

V.V Capitano ( Captain )

The Capitano serves as a leader of the sergeants and Soldatos, and is tasked with the protection of the city and its citizens, as well as recruiting and training new soldiers. He has proven to be a most helpful and responsible member of the Coerenza, and leads a specific branch of la Coerenza, such as the royal guard, cavalry or other branches.

V.VI Colonello ( Colonel )

The Colonel is appointed by the free citizens of the Principality of Vitenna and is tasked with the leading of the La Coerenza di Vitenna,

as well as maintaining the ideals of Vitenna within its borders. Responsibility, teamwork and freedom.

He is an elected leader chosen by the citizens over all other captains, and rules the coeranza to the best of his capabilities. He also is apart of the Romani state, meaning he executes and suggests his opinion on state matters.

VI.Oath of la Coeranza di Vitenna:

“I, as a free citizen of the Principality Vitenna, solemnly swear to protect all who set foot into our land with goodwill,

may it be a king or peasant, an orc, human, or any other race.

I swear to accept all religions and genders,

and to aid my companions and citizens to the best of my capability,

and hold myself responsible for all of Vitenna’s well-being.”
