“Those beings of Iblees, of monsters and the occult, who dare defile what is natural and pure- it is not defeated by wanton rampage and war, but instead by knowledge and understanding. Only then can you purge what great evils he has unleashed.” - Serik Wick

Preamble

Since the dawn of the descendants, creatures of unknowable origins have torn their way through countless innocents, whose lives have been lost to such ominous entities. There is pity for those who would attack the ethereal with a mundane sword, or for the adventurer who charges a dragon. For hunting and fighting monsters is a game of brain as much as brawn, requiring knowledge and information of what perils one may encounter. This is the purpose of the Orrir’ Academy, to create preparedness for the brave souls who must stave off the creatures of the night.

The academy currently resides within the guild of Orrir’Ullral, that which pertains to bounties ranging from mundane to the occult. The purpose being to eliminate any outside threats to descendants, whether natural or odd. However, the responsibilities that the Orrir’Ullral withhold are vast and wide, meaning their presence cannot be accounted for in every beastial encounter. Thus the Orrir’Ullral academy was designed and arranged by Randall Wick- the head of academia within the guild’s rankings and Vysasaldris, the head of the Order- serving to aid in educating and preparing those willing descendants in defending themselves correctly against the ill forces of Iblees.

Academics

The purpose of the academy is to prepare potential guild members for the many threats they will encounter upon a bounty. To fully dedicate one’s self to their passion they must learn all aspects of their work, as such is the duty of the academy to fully advise and guide acolytes of the guild. As the trade is very mixed in its specialties, the academy will start with three essential classes. The academy is spaced into three semesters;

Semester one: Herbal Studies & Medicine

Semester two: Beasts & Their Nature

Semester three: Weaponry & Combat Training

Each semester lasts for about two saint’s weeks, with two lessons spaced in each week. Each semester offers a different area of expertise each orderman is expected to know. After the students have gone through all three semesters they will be given a final assessment to determine if they are ready.

The classes range on what they offer, with each harnessing real application to in-field prowess. Herbal Studies and Medicine will mainly focus on the use of growing and applying herbs in the field and off of it. Students will learn how to heal mundane wounds, as well as how to craft compactly for travel. The class will run over creating splints, ointments, bandages, and whatever else one might need in the heat of a battle. Assignments will be consistent, pertaining to gathering herbs in the wild and treating them, or to construct a harness. By the end of the semester the students will be expected to have moderately advanced knowledge of medicus responsibilities and practices, along with capable skills in herb-lore and horticulture.

The second semester will include monsters and constructs that are commonplace to fight. Ranging from the arcane to the soulless, acolytes will research old druid guides and paladin handbooks, learning how certain creatures fight or what abilities they may harness. Students of the Orrir’Ulrall will be prepared to combat occult and mundane creatures alike. Learning attack patterns and weaknesses of foes will be an essential part of the course, as well as how some creatures came to be. Students will be expected to research creatures as assignments, sometimes writing a thesis on their chosen beast. The acolyte will be expected to thoroughly understand common beasts, as well as dangerous niche beasts that one may cross by the end of the semester. This as well includes their weaknesses and abilities, if any.

The last class includes weapons training, teaching acolytes how to work crossbows, wield blades and blunt weapons, as well as strategies to use on the field. While the guild does not condone magic, protection against it is well researched. Drills and sword practice will occur often within the guild, the main focus being to prepare hunters for fights against beasts rather than man. Usage of differing weapons is common depending upon the creature, not limited to warhammers, maces, pikes, and whatever else is moderately dangerous. Lessons will also be offered for crossbows and longbows depending on the person’s preference. By the end of the class the student should have a capable grasp of how to wield basic arms, and how to defend one’s self. Optimally they would know the fundamentals of techniques employed during hunting, including trapping and use of alchemical remedies.

Siol slowly, though happily nods as he smiles to the sight of a documented plan and documentation of his guild’s academic lectures, going to review his many books once more as he steps away from the notice.

This current Guild has been deemed inactive and has hereby been moved. If you wish to appeal this decision you must present evidence to myself proving the guild is still active.
