THE PURSUIT OF KNOWLEDGE

THE PRINCIPALITY OF VITENNA

as published the 2nd of The Fist Seed – 1767

Spoiler

The Silver State of Haelun’or stands by its newfound quest to promote and commend those who have made their goal to live by the book rather than the blade, a mission which will hopefully usher in a new age where blood is seldom spilt by descendants. Word spreading of our efforts, the silver elves of Lareh’thilln were contacted by a small settlement in the southern extremities, the desert-island of Korvassa. This oasis, better known as Vitenna, proved not only to be a literal patch of greenery in the otherwise scorched desert, but also a metaphorical shed of knowledge in the otherwise war-torn humanity.

Their humble library housed no more than thirty books, but in their pursuit to negotiate with the Eternal Library in order to attain a more significant collection to educate their peoples, they proved to make for the most gracious of hosts, going as far as to escort our representatives to their land to ensure their protection on the bandit-infested roads.

There is naught more valuable to mali’thill than tomes of knowledge, despite this, their attempted negotiations proved sincere enough for us to be convinced.

In light of this, The Silver State of Haelun’or’s Eternal Library shall grant to them twenty tomes as a token of acknowledgement in their scholarly pursuits and shall invite the royal family of Vitenna to visit the fabled athenaeum in person.

Spoiler

my previous post that got removed not sure if it was like too short to be real rp or what bc i didnt get a warning point

Louis, upon hearing of the Elven publication, sends an anonymous letter to the Silver City with a copied Vitennan announcement cutout. Attached too, of course, is a briefly but strongly-worded dissertation on the atrocities committed by the Piastdom of Vitenna’s ruling family, the Varoches of Ves.

Dear High Elves of Haelun’or,

By calling Vitenna a “shed of knowledge” you imply they possess any capacity whatsoever to act in intelligent manner. Instead, their family is famously the product of sibling inbreeding, a crime in your city-state, and of disingenuous attacks on a great variety of allies and enemies alike.

The Varoche Duke of Adria allowed old Ves to burn. He then abandoned his children, leaving them homeless wards of the state.

His sons and daughters were infamously amoral, cheating on their spouses and spawning an untold number of bastards, each illegally claiming the full rights of their forefather.

His grandchildren, too, sought to undermine an Empire which had welcomed them back with open arms, before finally their crimes caught up to them and they were forced to flee the state upon which they had leeched for a great many years – hence them becoming tenants of the Korvassan wastes.

I warn you out of sympathy alone – the Roaches of Ves not your friends.

Warm Regards,

A concerned Orenian milkman.

“why is this milkman so pressed omg go back to milking cows,” says a concerned milkmaid (who was, in fact, not milking her cows), aware that the family of Napoliza undertook a new name as a means to rebrand from the controversies of their forefathers, and thus, tangentially desire to further their city’s scholastic standing.  “Just let ‘em be. They ain’t doing you any harm,”  she bellows to her associate across the farmlands, thrusting her fist at him – not because she’s pressed.
