The Imperial Boxing Association is a Reveler company, belonging to the Honorable Company of Thespians and Revelers (est. 1760) that hosts competitive fighting tournaments for the Holy Orenian Empire and its allies.

This association opens up many doors for those hoping to become more involved with the Imperial cities, primarily Helena, and, can even allow for one to become a Livery Master in the future!

Brief History

The Imperial Boxing Association is a relatively new company, being introduced at/around the same time as the Honorable Company of Thespians and Revelers was created.  The I.B.A.’s founder and former CEO, Vitaly Valic, had founded the Imperial Boxing Association with hopes to bring the joy of friendly competition to the grand city of Helena - largely succeeding in his endeavor. Valic would soon become the Livery Master of the Company of Thespians & Revelers, founding the honorable association - leading the two with great success.

Though, this Gambler’s luck would begin to run dry, and, when he died in 1764, both companies were left without a suitable leadership. That is, until current I.B.A. CEO & Livery Master Viktoriya Pruvia-Albarosa née Bennett had stepped up to the plate, reviving both with plans to expand and continue on Valic’s legacy of bringing joy to the Holy Empire.

Here, now, do they stand, performing annual tourneys and games for the populace of the Holy Orenian Empire!

Opportunities

Those wishing to join the Reveler Company of the Imperial Boxing Association have, but are not limited to, 3 base options:

Boxing Umpire

5hk46jh634.png

What a match would dissolve to, should the Umpire not be present!

In matches, someone who watches the match closely to enforce the rules in a round is necessary to avoid cheating & injury to the player(s) present. If you have a general knowledge of Boxing, and are willing to be on the front-line of the play closely watching to make sure the game is fair and square, this job may be for you.

Becoming an Umpire also requires for you to commentate on the match and provide feedback to those charting the wins & losses.

The Umpire will typically be paid 15-30 Mina per round (with a usual amount of rounds being 13-15), though the CEO / Delegate attending can choose to lower or rise their payment depending on performance.

(OOC: This is a mostly non-roleplay job, that requires a good eye to catch any hacking/autoclicking, which is fairly easy to mistake. You will need to make short commentations on the match- i.e.  “__ strikes a strong left hook, throwing __ out of the ring! __ wins!”.)

Ring Entertainers

A group of Ring Entertainers practicing before a tourney.

In order to maintain the spectator’s enjoyment, many have employed scantily-clad models to waltz around the ring after a match to display the next round’s number. Other entertainers can be jugglers, sword swallowers, fire breathers, et Cetra, as long as it’s fun to watch!

Due to the low effort of the job, the pay isn’t enormous - a usual 5-10 mina per round being common. Though, it’s still a pay, for simply holding up a card and walking around for a minute or two! More lengthy and entertaining performances will be paid more.

(OOC: This is a job that requires good roleplay: it doesn’t have to be lengthy, enormous emotes, but, those who simply emote “__ walks out into the ring. Holding a card saying ‘15’ on it” or “__ throws 3 balls into the air, juggling them” then waltz out will not be paid).

Match Recorders

A Match Recorder charting the tourney.

If you enjoy writing, this job may be for you!

Typically, a CEO/Delegate will perform this: but, with each match, there will be a winner, and a loser. The winner of the match needs to be charted and moved up the list to face their next opponent, which requires a steady focus and good memory.

This job is the best paying- usually at least 400 Mina per Tourney, though tends to be more if the recorder is quick with their edits.

(OOC: In terms of roleplay, you do not need to do more than ‘_ observes and records the outcome’. It does not require good roleplay, but it requires you being able to handle a document of sorts to format and handle.)
