Entry 1, 10th of Owyns Flame, 1777 (7/16/20)

 

I often find myself scanning over the Holy Scrolls while we’re concealing ourselves in the Varoche; trying to survive the war, and simultaneously going about our daily lives. It’s complex and puzzling; to be fearing for your life, all day. I’ve traveled to Haense, once or twice, I’ve spoken with Fräulein Saoirse, she assures me that life will be okay, I won’t be kidnapped again.

I feel as though I’m growing up quickly, too quickly. I’m only eight years old, but I feel as if I am 18. I want to be a child, I want to catch frogs again, I want to annoy Lorena once more, but we stay inside. Concealed within the walls of Kaedrin, inside the enclosure of the Varoche Palace.

 

I’ve wondered about what I can learn from this war; what would my Grandmas do? My Maternal Grandmother and Mother, both named Lorena, were kidnapped in the AIS war, and it was a war that I couldn’t imagine, to me it felt far off, like a story that we’re told until we comply. I pray that Gott will help us. Sometimes, I find I wake up, in a cold sweat in the dead of the night, thinking about that night.

 

One day, I’m gonna be a mother, a grandmother, and possibly even great-grandmother. I can’t wait until that day.

Entry 2, 13^th of the Grand Harvest, 1777 (7/18/2020)

 

I’ve attended the Red Jubilee Ball today, and quite interestingly, there was an Orkfrau there, I wanted to talk to her but I didn’t get the chance, as they left early. Instead, I talked to my cousin Wilhelmina, and my Uncle who I never met before, but, somehow he’s my age. I don’t understand why he’s my age. Anyways, the Orkfrau was wearing a dress of a noble woman, I couldn’t see the design but it was a beautiful blue color, she had orange hair, similar to that of Wilhelmina’s. Wilhelmina and her friend, Lady Renee and her son, Uncle Leopold, however I refuse to call someone my age an uncle. I think Renee is a very beautiful woman; she wore a powdered wig, an astounding and bonny violet colored dress. I think one day I’d like to wear a towering, rose-embroided wig. I think I enjoyed myself, today.
