 Call to Justice

 

Treebeard is heritage of the forest dwarves (and by connection Hefrumm as we are the only town governed by forest dwarves in the known world) it was the clan of the father of our kin Gloin. Because of this many (and some would say all) have a claim to the clan. This has caused many Treebeard clans existing at different points in time without the knowledge of each other. In turn this at times created situations where multiple chiefs and/or Clan Fathers claimed leadership of the clan. At first I was skeptical about addressing the current treebeard issue directly. However, I cannot keep quiet any longer.

 

 

Many years ago a dwarf named Ozneat brought a version of the Treebeard clan forward. His version of the clan was very different from what the texts tell us about the original Treebeards. Ozneats Treebeards like to write aye like the Gloin’s Treebeards. However, they were also savage, racist, and raiders meanwhile, Gloin’s Treebeards were prone to peace, tended to socialise and sometimes live with druids or elves, and loved to learn magic and druidism. We at Hefrumm see Ozneat as one of the three High Chiefs who Fell from Grace bringing shame to Hefrumm in one way or another. In Ozneat’s case he abandoned Hefrumm in its time of need blaming the youth of the village, and was branded a kinslayer by da Kirkja Dverga. The current group that is trying to usurp the clan fatherhood of Throrin Treebeard are directly connected to Ozneat by blood like many in Hefrumm, but also in culture and beliefs. Hefrumm is a place for all forest dwarves. Another matter is the amount of elders Ozneat’s Treebeard’s have. As we are discussing the legitimacy of their claim to the Treebeards it is fair to say that despite being suspicious it is irrelevant. If they hold no claim it does not matter if they were illegitimately made elder by a wannabe usurper.

 

 

But what are we to do if some forest dwarves refuse the embrace of Hefrumm and instead try to undermine us? If it were up to me back in the day when I was just the Chief of the Blackroots I would have proposed that the High Chief exiles this group. But now, with the gift of growth I see that those actions would be short sighted. For this reason I propose we all as dwarves call the High Courts of Urguan for each individual to put forward their claim to the Treebeard Clan. This will give our people a precedent in our legal history where the court has peacefully resolved a clan claim/usurpation conflict. For the sake of justice and for the evolution of the Urganian Law I call all dwarves to demand for this matter to be solved through our legal system.

And I never get why you kids dislike Ozneat so much, without him you lot wouldn’t really be alive today, despite the flaws, brought back religion into Kaz’Ulrah as well as Agnraum, if Ozneat is unlegit, a large amount of modern day Forest Dwares are unlegit hahahaha, but who cares, just a game
