“For The Dignity Of All”

________________________________________________

Well before our first victory in the 16th Imperial Diet of 1764, the Josephite Party had been the driving force of progressive change in the Holy Orenian Empire. It shall continue to be so, but only with your help.

Our nation views the Rights of Man as fundamental truths crucial to maintaining the fabric of humanity. It is the Josephite party that sees these rights as inalienable and divinely inspired. It is these truths and our creed, “for the dignity of all”, that passionately inspires and unites us in purpose to do what is right.

We in the Josephite Party represent a philosophy of civil fairness, individual liberty, and economic opportunity.

Policies of the Past

The fair governance under Archchancellor Jonah Stahl-Elendil, leader of the Josephite majority in the House of Commons and the Imperial Ministry, has overseen the expansion of opportunities for the common man.

________________________________________________

  • The balancing of the Imperial budget in 1768, in partnership with the Basrid Ministry, reduced taxes and reduced Imperial spending by 30% and actively put more money into the pockets of Imperial citizens.
  • With adjustments, the Marna Economic Plan has helped organize and incentivize Orenian business leaders to hire new staff and increase production in Helena and Kaerin. Rights of Orenian workers have been protected through the Josephite’s Intellectual Property Act.
  • Released the city of Helena from the overreaching Ministry of the Interior and the Livery Boards, allowing it to accumulate its own coffers. Under a mayor with Josephite ideals, the unrepresentative livery board was abolished, allowing for a more representative city assembly with aldermen.
  • Guaranteed speedy trials by passing the Swift & Fair Justice Act, compelling the Ministry of Justice and Imperial Court system to a timeframe when processing and hearing and trials so as to avoid prolonged imprisonment and justice to the people.
  • Passing fair election laws that prevent individuals, groups, and organizations from coercing political action from individuals.
  • Increased immigration and economic activity into the City of Helena, attracting new businesses.
  • Negotiated a meaningful non-aggression  agreement with the Kingdom of Norland, making the world safer for Canonists.

Policies for the Future

The Josephite platform for the election of 1787 covers social, economic, and legal reforms that are designed to improve the lives of our citizens, and the function of our Imperial institutions.

________________________________________________

  • Passage of the Land Grant system to make it easier for citizens, businesses, and entities to apply for tracts of land.
  • Better regulation of land and businesses to prevent misuse and depletion of natural resources.
  • Ratification of new treaties and foreign policy through the Imperial Diet before submitting to the Crown for approvalProtect practical freedom of speech through feasible protection policy.
  • Charter and subsidize new corporations, guilds, and other organizations.
  • Create a national Solicitor and Barrister registry and license, making it unlawful to practice if not licensed.
  • To ensure the protection and expansion of civil liberties to all Orenian citizens.

The Government

The argument of the opposition in which a cabinet minister can take advantage of the legislative is meddled with logical fallacies. If a person, regardless of cabinet or not, wants to run for elective office, they too must be accountable to the people. Thus, in association, the ministerial governance will be held accountable to the people through this manner, through confidence and confirmation.

Such is the role of the House of Commons to provide confidence in the Cabinet, should you support these candidates, this is the government that is promised to you.

William Helvets, a youthful, fervent supporter of the Josephites, cries out in alarm, "Why am I not on the ticket?!" whilst hunting rabbits in Kaedrin. He childishly bemoans his fate the entirety of the ride home, much to the dismay of his tired retainers.

George Dubois drew in a light, yet relieved breath upon coming to the page’s end. Though the dismantling of said cabinet caused dismay, it was a blessing in disguise for the aging man, due to the fact of him coming of age just in time for the present election. After reclining in his seat, the Dubois mulled everything over with a cigar pressed between his lips; puffing away. Then with a stretch, the proud words of “For The Dignity Of All” escaped his lips.
