POSITIONS IN THE ROYAL DUMA

The Royal Duma serves as a representation of the Haeseni people and allows the ability for those seeking to make amendments to the government to do so, thusly improving the kingdom as a whole through their contributions whilst also surveying and auditing the kingdom. Those with ambitions in the duma exterior to the direct ongoings of the legislative work (i.e. peerage seats or elected officials) are asked to henceforth consider the following roles and contact the Lady Speaker, Irena Ruthern, through meeting or letter. 

 

CLERKS

A clerk in the Royal Duma works directly under the Lady / Lord Speaker, employed to scribe the ongoings of the duma (in a document to be provided to them upon their employment) and record-keep attendance of the elected officials and lords. 

 

Other duties of the clerks can be but are not limited to; 

→ Record-keeping the participation of lords / elected officials 

→ Writing transcripts of the Duma (moderated and unmoderated debates included) 

→ Assisting the Lady / Lord Speaker on the formation and writing of any public documents 

→ Interviewing elected officials & lords of the Duma regarding bills and opinions 

→ Working upon assigned projects from the Lord / Lady Speaker  (i.e. interview transcripts or historical studies upon a Duma participant)

 

ADJUDICATOR

The adjudicator is assigned and employed by the Lord / Lady Speaker to host debates in the public space of the duma hall, exterior to the time in which duma is held. These debates are not solely for those within the duma, but instead opened events for all to attend and partake in. Whether there is to be competitions held or debate teams formulated shall be to the jurisdiction of the adjudicator and those involved in the events themselves. 

 

If the adjudicator is a vacant position, the duties of the adjudicator fall upon the Lord / Lady Handler (elected by the duma thereafter their nomination). This shall be a way of practice at mediating for the Lord / Lady Handler, if it so happens to be the case. If the Lord / Lady Handler is vacant, the duties shall fall upon the Lord / Lady Speaker. 

 

WARDS

Wards to the Lady Speaker, Irena Ruthern, shall be for the youth of the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska that are brought forth by their parents or, in case there is a lack thereof, other legal guardians. Wards must send a letter of interest written by themselves and signed by their parents/guardians, or a letter of interest written by the hand of the parent if the potential ward is unable to properly scribe their own. Wards specifically to the Lady Speaker will be primarily focused on law, creating a bill, and other ongoings of duma; however, wardship shall also include (and is not limited to) lessons regarding Haeseni history, culture, and court etiquette. 

 

Wards will be held to a high standard and thus may be required to;

→ Attend any meetings & Royal Duma with the Lady Speaker

→ Formulate 2-3 of their own pseudo bills they wish to see changes in the law regarding 

→ Study assigned texts over history, culture, etiquette, laws, etc.  

→ Write observations of Haeseni culture, life, and notable opinions in debates / duma
