Introduction

The Children of Typhoon, Cophinus Invarius, are hardy people who are known to endure many unyielding trials. Hailing from the Southern points of the world they have made life more than livable in tropic atmospheres. While a mostly calm and collected people, the Cophinus Invarius also holds a strong military tradition. They hold their values of virtue, honor, and kinship to their fellow man above all else.

The leader of the Typhoon is known as the Sovereign of the depths. The Sovereign rules like a king but is an elected role, not an inherited one. Only those who show the highest excellence in leadership skills among their kin may even be considered to be chosen to be the leader of the Typhoon. Tradition is a driving point for the Cophinus Invarius, making it’s people prone to dislike change. But in times of progress, even the most stubborn of its people can be moved to change with the times.

History

Art Design and Culture: Concept Art Influenced By Greek and Roman Art

The Cophinus Invarius originated from the tropical paradise known as the Queen’s Isle. The beginning of the Cophinus Invarius came from one of the first leaders of the port city Talon’s Grotto. The  Sovereign of the Depths, Nathaniel Goldblight had begun this movement and belief. He began to spread the ideals of the Cophinus Invarius during what would claim to be the golden age of his rule. With this many others under his rule follow suit, soon after much of the city of Talon’s Grotto became Cophonus Invarius.

Social Structure

The Cophinus Invarius are very sociable people, and their social interactions shape how they are as a society entirely. While being a people steadfast in their traditions and ways they are not a formal society. One outside of the Cophinus would find it odd finding the leaders discussing governmental affairs publicly with one another. Formalities are often disregarded or even looked down upon within their society. If one of the Cophinu Invarius were to be greeted in a formal manner they very well might take offense to such a gesture.

The Sovereign of the Depths is the most crucial role for one of the Cophinus Invarius to mantle within their people. However, unlike most monarchies, the Sovereign does not inherit the throne by bloodline.  He/She would gain rulership from being deemed the most capable of upholding Cophinus Invarius values for their people. Being deemed by a council who oversees the wellbeing and general safety of the rest of the Cophinus Invarius.

However, those who are in a higher position of the government do not hold any formalities or different attitude than the average Cophinus Invarius. They all share the same informal attitude, and how they carry themselves.

Architecture is a big part of the Cophinus Invarius, each Child of the Typhoon taking pride in the city they call home. Though once grand and pristine, their structures migrate with the world that surrounds them. Once a marble city is now a city of narrow pathways and small brick buildings. After adapting to their situations over the years the Cophinus Invarius now call the use of brick their trademark.

Though when the availability comes apparent to the master builders they will integrate marble and grand structures as they were once known for. However, the use of marble and other harder to gain materials has been restricted by the Cophinus Invarius for buildings and structures of importance.

The Cophinus Invarius being the social people that they are hold festivals, parties, and general large gatherings in high regard.  Festivities of all kinds are met with energetic crowds of the Cophinus Invarius, to miss a festival or group gathering is to miss life. And there is no festival held by the Cophinus Invarius without a drink, alcohol to be precise.

Alcohol within their culture is nearly vital as their need to hold festivities. Those of the Cophinus Invarius take part in drinking alcohol that is fruity in taste and high in the amount of actual alcohol within the said drink. For if a Cophinus Invarius cannot handle their drink they are open to public mocking for the rest of their day.
