Privej and hello our dear reader who hereby bears witness to the birth of what may hopefully be a long lasting newspaper: The Karosgrad Times. This paper, inspired by the exemplary Golden Crow Chronicles, serves to inform the people of Hanseti-Ruska and beyond of recent events, developments in various fields, the economy and more. We strive to bring you brief yet informative news on a diverse range of subjects, and we hope that you will welcome our paper with a healthy interest and an open mind. POLITICS
 

HOUSE RUTHERN RECEIVES TITULAR UPGRADE - On the 11th of Tov and Yermey, Haeseni Lord Maric var Ruthern, previously a Count, received a titular upgrade in the form of a Peerage Edict from His Majesty Josef I, granting him and the wider House of Ruthern the title of the Margraviate of Greyspine. The now Margrave Maric will henceforth be styled with a title that will sound familiar to many a Haenseman, for its history in the famous Greyspine Rebellion. From all of us at the Karosgrad Times, congratulations House Ruthern.

MAER BARBANOV’S THIRD EDICT - After the first two edicts published by Grand Maer and His Majesty’s brother, Franz Barbanov, which brought the citizens of Karosgrad buildings open for guilds, a new Haeseni Chess board and a book collection initiative, the Barbanov Maer has published a Third Edict. In this, the elected official of royal blood announced an expansion to the agricultural outskirts of the city projected to reach southward towards the barony of Mondstadt in an effort to feed the growing Haeseni population.

DUMA MEMBERS OBJECT - In an historical first, various members of His Majesty’s Royal Duma stepped out of line by objecting to a motion for the Duma to move to vote on a bill. The bill in question was a proposal from Holy Sir Nicolas to include a member of the Canonist Church in the Duma as a non-voting member. Opposition to this concept was widespread and it soon became clear the members wished to move to a vote so it could be cast off. It was then that three members of the Duma said they objected to the motion to vote, something that their opponents claim is not possible within the confines of the Duma. The Lord Speaker compromised between these members, by allowing them to have a final say each in which they further denounced the bill before moving on to the vote. The bill was voted down in a landslide.

RECREATION

BATTLE OF  THE BARDS ((wednesday the 20th, 3:30pm EST)) - A battle of musical skill between any bards, troubadours, musicians or really anyone else wishing to partake. No prior musical skill is required in this lighthearted event that will take place within the Old Stout Crow Pub in Karosgrad.

GRAND WINTER GALA ((saturday the 23rd, 2:00pm EST)) - This gala to be held in the Winter Palace of Karosgrad promises to be a night of high-culture and revelry. Its organization promises not only the performing of The Night Ballet, a stunning romance-drama ballet performance about a man and a woman who loved one another written by Mariya Sofia Vilac, but also a chance for the attendees themselves to dance, along with snacks and a special surprise. The dress code is one of masked identity and light, cool-shaded colors. The Royal families of not only Hanseti-Ruska but also Norland and the Holy Orenian Empire are expected to make an appearance.
