As the light on the horizon fades with the departure of the sages, a shadow creeps across the lands of Aegis. Screams and groans are heard past city gates, shadows from alleyways grab at people as they hurry to their homes. Dark lightning flashes in the sky, illuminating the silhouettes of fiends and corpses walking and slithering across the ground. A loud crack of thunder, a flash of red light, silence. As if time itself stopped, the air sits heavy and still. Your head fills with a loud pounding, your heart racing in your chest as you await the familiar sounds of the night. You jump with fright and cover your ears as a shrilling, maniacal laugh echoes across Aegis.
