The Family Tax Act

 

Year 23rd of the Second Age, 3rd of Snow’s Maiden.

 

In order to support the growing population of Yong Ping, new laws must be created to ensure that no citizen is left behind.

一。The Family Tax Act

1. With the expected birth of a child, families will be given One Elven Week exemption from Taxes. 

   1. An Exemption may not be withheld for a later date.

   2. An Exemption may not stack with existing Exemptions. 

   3. In the event of a birth during an Exemption period, time expired during the existing Exemption is still counted. 

   4. This exemption is intended to give families time to adjust to their new ways of life, through spending time with their newborn. 

   5. If a family is using their exemption for non-familial reasons, the exemption may be revoked at the discretion of the Minister of Justice.

   6. To claim this exemption, verify with a Steward.

2. In the event of sudden illness in the family which draws working members of a family away from their job, One Elven Week of exemption will be given from Taxes, which can be renewed with a Steward upon verification of illness. 

   1. Illness which draws a working member of a family away from work counts as anything which prevents a person from completing work, whether physically, emotionally, or otherwise. 

   2. This extends to the inability to find work for reasons physical, emotional, or otherwise, with verification from a Steward. 

   3. To claim this verification contact a Steward. 

 

二。Registering Families

Under Visitors and Citizens rights, family members that later decided to join their family within Yong Ping can be vouched for instead of undergoing the citizenship process. They would need to approach the Ministry of Justice or Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to be implemented as a citizen with their benefactor [family member] with them.

From there, it’s as simple as being imputed in instead of the usual legal process to become a citizen within the Prosperous Yong Ping. 

 

三。The purpose of this act is to ensure that the expansion of Yong Ping and its ever growing families is both supported and encouraged. As with any growing family, it can become tough to acclimate to and this assists in helping to remedy it, while it may not be an entire solution, it is still part of the puzzle.

 

四.  This act will come into effect immediately upon the City-State of Yong Ping’s expansion into nationhood.
