A group of young ladies, depicted in 1826

A N N O   D O M I N I 1828

Penned by the hand of TH, Maisie Adelheid d’Arkent

You are loved, you are loved

You are really loved

TIS MOONLIGHT

Tis moonlight, summer moonlight

all soft and still and fair;

The solemn hour of midnight

breathes sweet thoughts elsewhere.

But most where trees are sending

their breezy boughs on high,

or stooping low are lending

a shelter from the sky.

And therein those wild bowers

a lovely form is laid,

green grass and dew-steeped flowers

wave gently round her frame.

────── ──────

STARLA

She swears she sees a brand new constellation

everytime somebody we know dies.

It is no consolation prize, but we’ll remember you.

I keep conversing with the woman on the moon

I know she’s going to tell me something that I want to hear

I bet it’ll happen soon.

────── ──────

AN ODE TO FEARLESS

Defined by no man, you remain your own story,

ablaze through the world, transforming history into herstory.

And when they dare to command you about

all the things you cannot be,

you beam and inform them,

“I am both war and woman and you cannot stop me”
